Review: [Good Smile Company] Dead Master -Original version-

Figure Information
Manufacturer: Good Smile Company
Origin Series: Black ★ Rock Shooter
Scale: 1/8
Height: Approximately 29cm tall
Original Price: 9,800Yen

Figure Box:

Like her BRS counterpart, her box is big despite DM herself being small, and also patterned in a checkered style and the same style as how you open the box from the top. A pretty neat touch to her box is how rough the texture of her skull logo is and both the logo and her name are apparently glow in the dark!

Details:

For something that has been the best figure of 2010 for me, she is, of course, wonderful in terms of detail, especially the very folds in her dress. The folds are very well made and easily one of DM's distinguishable details, though there's a visible seam line at the sides, overall, this won't affect how great she is. Everything else like her hands, her horn, and not to mention DM's really sexy back really displays a lot of wonders here. Last but not least would be her Dead Scythe and skull, both of which has ridiculously great texture and are fairly visible from the way they were molded and painted as well.

The base is similarly made like BRS Cannon's but DM's more appealing because of the crack in the middle; the crack just gives it the more "badass" character feel and you know me, I'm quite a sucker for non-boring bases. XD

Appeal:

Well basically one of the major appeals of BRS characters are their eyes, and like her BRS counterpart, she also gives off those luminous effects when light sources are fired up which is, of course, pretty much a nice touch for hobby photographers like me.

Another part enjoyable for DM would be the number of accessories you can choose from in displaying her, basically, you can opt to display her with her Dead Scythe, or her left hand holding a skull, or some more chains included or ridiculously mash up all 3 to make her look fiercer since her pose certainly does compliment her the said trait, it gives that image that she had just smacked the Dead Scythe on the ground, thus, the impact causes her skirt to float up a bit as well as crushing the base while deliciously giving off her wonderful smile.

For extra play, well, I displayed her holding her scythe in reverse and shooting it from her back, kinda gives off that feel that she's just dragging around her scythe while it continuously hacks the ground. XD Anyway, after the said shot are just two slightly different angle points since obviously her perfect spot is from her right.

Final Thoughts:

Definitely, you'll know my suggestion since after all, I regarded her as THE best figure of 2010. Certainly a very worth it figure vs her price despite how small she actually turned out to be, well, at least not as puny as Roshin Yukai Rin, right? Anyway, for those who actually have the BRS Cannon, definitely get DM, the two look awesome together.
