Review: [Bandai] S.I.C. Volume 16 Kamen Rider Black Rx and Kamen Rider Black -Classics 2008 Edition-

Kamen Rider Black... RX?
Well, if you've lived in the Philippines, KR Black was the first KR series that was aired here in a local channel. It was years later before a new KR series was shown. Well, KR Black and RX are one single being counting the Showa era, however, in Decade, they are two different beings whose human form looks exactly alike and have the same name. Anyway, Kotaro Minami was kidnapped by Gorgom only to be genetically remodeled into a cyborg to be their new King, however, his remodeling wasn't complete and thus, used his powers to defend people as Kamen Rider Black, as Black, he succeeded in destroying Gorgom. However, a few years later, a new organization named Crisis empire attacked Kotaro Minami, he was wasted into space and his King Stone, the one that enables him to henshin into Black, was shattered but as he is the "child of the sun", the sun mutated his shattered King Stone and thus, gave birth to his new Rider form, Kamen Rider Black RX. Without further delay... Here's the review! :D The review will be like V3's but with no face and photogenic appeal and base criteria.
Package/Box:
Just like other SIC Classics, there's an extra board covering the original design of the package. And yeah, the packaging of Black RX's SIC is just pretty plain simple, black and some neon green. Not much to say but at least, the box is thin enough not to eat space.

Details:
Sorry, no accuracy coverage for SIC since SIC is really an off-original design. Well, most of the parts of RX is made up of something like rubber, they're just used to cover the body frame. However, some parts of RX like his feet and belt are made of die-cast material. The details are nicely done even the back, RX's SIC is just great.

Well, even RX's face, though he looks more buggy due to larger eyes, he still pretty much resembles RX and you can definitely tell that he is KR Black RX.
Bonus features and Accessories:
Before I go to the major accessories, RX has an extra pair of hands, closed fists with the right hand being able to hold an object. And of course, RX is not complete without his Revolcane which is also included in the pack. ^^ I still feel Bandai shouldn't be too cheap on the extra arms though. XD
Now for the bonus feature, if you've read the title, yes! There is an SIC Black, the bonus feature being RX's parts can be swapped with Black's parts, a lot of parts actually: the head, the shoulder pads, the body, the arms, the leg pads, even the legs and feet themselves are all swappable and extra extra insect legs that should be attached to the body. Well, looks odd huh? But seriously, if SIC is about being Imaginative, Black wins that category already since he is by far, the most monstrous SIC design, really far off from black if the body isn't there to give you a hint that he is in fact, KR Black. Anyway, here's SIC Black in full body.
Poseability:
Well, old SICs have limited poseabilities and RX isn't spared from it, although... RX is poseable enough to make his post-henshin hand poses (I'm serious), that's one major plus. And you can do some more poses with the help of the Revolcane, RX can also do his RX Jump pose and Rider Kick.

As for Black, he's hellishly limited, ridiculous enough is he can't really do much poses, his Rider Kick is ridiculously not looking good and even his Rider Punch. Although he can do his final hand pose after completing the henshin, but still not that accurate to do totally limited elbow articulation. This is a minus, since Black is in fact included in this package.
Last but not the least is since this is SIC Classics 2008, there's once again a name plate included. ^^
Overall:
Black and Black RX is definitely not bad at all especially with RX, the deal is really worth it, although if you're a completist, this might be a problem since you'll have to buy another package to display both RX and Black since you'll be needing an extra body frame for Black or RX. But still, this is one of the more affordable SICs around.

Well, I've been sucked into the world of SIC lately due to two reasons: 1. lack of interesting PVC statues in the local shops, 2. Kamen Rider is such a win and I'm beginning to appreciate the SIC designs. Anyway, SIC collectors can't go wrong if they get this figure, RX is pretty nice in every manner even with the limited articulation, the fact that he can pull off his hand poses is a win already.
