Figure Info:
Manufacturer:
Bandai
Series:
Kamen Rider Blade
Scale and Height:
Non-scale and approximately 18cm tall.
The Warrior of Spade...
Orphaned at the age of 11, it was his feeling of helplessness that made him what it takes to be scouted by BOARD. Kenzaki Kazuma eventually got promoted to be the wielder of the Blay Buckle, thus, allowing him to transform into Kamen Rider Blade. As a member of BOARD, he and his senior, Tachibana a.k.a Kamen Rider Garren, hunt down and seal the undead. Eventually when mankind faces the wrath of the Joker, Kazuma, wanting to protect Hajime, the Joker undead, abused the use of his King Form which eventually lead to him sacrificing his humanity and become an undead; as a result, the world was saved with the existence of 2 undeads and thus, Kazuma leaves as meeting up Hajime would eventually force the two of them to fight once more. He later returns at the Rider War World in Kamen Rider Decade being able to transform directly to Blade King Form by inserting evolution king in the Blay Buckle.
It was hard to look for Blade's actual images, usually, figures would show up, so, here his show design.
Finally for the review of this SIC.
Package/Box:
The one I got was the Classics version so... like the usual classics, it has an extra cover but I really think the Classics 2007 sleeve is better than 2008's. His box is really nice in terms of appearance but what can I say only the colors an a few designs change in S.I.C. boxes, there's always preview pics on the back.
Details:
Compared to my other S.I.C.s Blade is magnificently detailed from almost every piece of armor he's wearing. The designs are just too nice, well, compered to my other S.I.C.s at hand, there's no one except blade to have such detailed pieces of armor parts and as like RX, his armor parts gives this feel that it's made up of somewhat rubber-like material while some are obviously made from die-cast parts.
For one observation, the Heisei riders doesn't get that much "imaginative" transformation but Blade looks totally far from his series look so a really big plus for Blade when it comes to the face.
Accessories and Bonus Feature:
Blade has interesting accessories. He has the blay rouzer with two blade options, one's plugged in a rock, the blay rouzer has good features like having the cards set when Blade prepares to use an attack. One additional accessory is for his left leg, you can switch the parts and have a some type of holder for Blade's Blay Rouzer.
Another part is his head, which you can switch with a red horn which you see whenever Blade prepares for his finisher move.
Of course, this pack comes with extra parts for you to convert Blade to his King Form.
Like in the show, Blade King Form's armor parts are made up of different undeads, and the S.I.C. version did not fail on that one, as you can see in the detail pics below, he is completely detailed in every part of the armor.
And of course, King Form wouldn't be complete without the King Rouzer which can be attached to his back. ^^
Poseability:
As far as normal form's poseability is concerned, it's pretty much fine by me already, he's pretty flexible and he certainly can capture his poses from the show and you can do more with it.
Normal form might be nice but when it comes to King Form, I'm somewhat disappointed with the posability since he becomes a bit restricted due to the thickness of the armor and he can't even make the Royal Straight Flush pre-attack pose properly. But still, you can dish out pretty catchy poses even with the said limitations.
Overall:
Well, even though he's one of those S.I.C.s with one body and two forms, I think it's fine as it is since unlike Black and RX, who can exist together (as shown in the RX special), well, virtually, Blade and King Form can exist together in Decade, but that's Decade's worlds. In Blade series, these two can never exist together, so, I'm good with it, I don't have this regret that it only has one body frame. As for the price, I got it from a fellow collector in the GT forums for a really really good price. So, I'm definitely good with it.
Remarks:
Details - 10/10
Accessories and Bonus Features - 10/10
Poseability - 8.5/10
Price - (original price) 10/10
Average: 9.625/10
Final Remarks then...
Beware! He can pawn even the Destroyer of Worlds...
Well, S.I.C. 35 is really one of the best S.I.C.s as most collectors have mentioned, really nice details and really cheap too. As a main rider, his S.I.C. is definitely a win and as you see he got a pretty nice rating for an articulated figure. Really one of the best S.I.C.s around.

Might get one in the future for the sake of collecting all Heisei Riders for the SIC Decade.
ReplyDeleteInteresting take on Blade, especially the King Form, with the King Rouzer. The King Rouzer looks badass by the way, hehe
