Review: [Volks] Hatsune Miku -Encore version-

Figure Info:
Manufacturer:
Volks
Series:
Vocaloid
Scale and Height:
1/6 scale measured as 22cm tall from base to the highest tip of the figure

Encore version?
Well, basically this is a reuse mold of the original Volks Miku with a new, better and lovelier face and a new set of arms. Probably people wanted Miku to be more moe and thus, Volks made this as an Encore XD Well, anyway, the first sentence kinda explains what the encore version is already XD

Anyway, this review is made earlier than the time posted since this is a somewhat "gift" from me for the birthday girl Vocaloid :p

Box/Packaging:
Well, Encore's box is pretty space-friendly to begin with, it's pretty simple but not boring in a sense and just about everything you will need to inspect can be inspected already on her box's window. The box is pretty cute especially the No. 3.9 which can be directly read as Miku. XD Anyway, as usual, I don't care about box designs that much as long as it's space friendly.

Face and Photogenic Appeal:
Well, yeah, like I said in the intro, she has a better face. Why is that exactly? Because she has a really lively and happy face in this version, IMO the most moe scaled Miku to date would be this version. Even beats my favorite GSC Miku in terms of having that "I'm dying because of cuteness" reaction XD Lively colors + a lively face does bring out a good appeal when shooting the figure. She's just sweet at many angles and thus, making her a really really nice Miku figure to get.

So, isn't she really cute? XD Anyway, like my usual reviews, my favorite shot goes after a few shots of the figures in different angles. Now, have that "So moe, I died" reaction, lololol!

Body and Details:

Volks made a pretty good job in terms of the her dress details, it's just lovely. Even her clothes has those really crisp folds which is at par with that of Max Factory's 1/7 Miku. Details on her clothes are just complete and fine, I don't have much to complain already. Well, for one thing I really want to hit on, it's her twintails. Volks just had to be lazy at this part, they made her tails a big lump of "hollow" colored plastic. Why hollow? Well, it's because the tails are very very light, probably done so the tails won't fall off but still, they could've put in some more details such as a bit separated hair edges instead of lumping her hair into one big piece of hair :p

Base:
Miku's base is really really small, I'm amazed how well it could balance the figure from such a size. It's pretty plain too but the least is it's black meaning it'd avoid those dust problems and have the color remain the same. The base also has her name in it.

Bonus Feature:
Now this is where the package really makes it one of the must haves scaled Miku figures around. Apparently, included in the package are all the parts from the original release giving the owner 2 extra right arms, an extra left arm and an alternate head/face. Thus, giving one a variety of a total of 12 different face-arm combinations, making it pretty much one of the most fun static figures I own. I only took shots of those that the original release can't do since I'm planning to get that in the future. XD

Overall:

Her price is definitely a win given the moesness and the wicked variety of poses to choose from for a static figure. I got her from Otacute with the help of a friend and she really does prove to be one of the best Mikus to date.

Remarks:
Face and Photogenic Appeal - 10/10
Body and Details - 8/10
Base - 8.5/10
Bonus Feature - 10/10
Price - 10/10
Overall: 9.3/10

And now for some final remarks...

Happy Birthday, Miku-chan~

If you're a Miku collector like me, this is definitely something that's hard to pass on, if ever you plan to get the Volks versions, get this, it's more available right now and it even has the parts of the original release for its price. Really pretty much a steal for its price already if you ask me. She is just very cute and pretty small too for a supposedly 1/6 scaled figure XD
