He is... the friend of all children...

Figure Box:

Following the style of every Sci-fi revo releases, Gamera follows a standard revo box with a hidden window which can be revealed by opening up the cover panel where the character's prototype shot is and quite frankly, the sci-fi revo packaging works for me in most cases, but I guess that depends on character, and as for Heisei Gamera here, it's pretty much so-so I guess probably because of the the choice of pose. XD

Figure Details:

Though I failed to take detail shots, I guess you'd see it later on on the articulation section since for Gamera and Gyaos, I ridiculously forgot to take em since I was enjoying them too much I guess. XD Gamera's details are superb to start off, the texture of it all is just superb and realistic much for me, the color tones are well done as well and this is one of the cases where the actual figure is A LOT better than how he looked like back in prototypes, the revolver joints are also well hidden and because of Heisei Gamera's colors, it the default gray revo joints blend it pretty well. Gamera's head is very very well made sporting a better and more vicious pair of eyes and a an array of menacing teeth which truly captures the friend of all children's heisei look.

Accessories:

Gamera has basically 2 real accessories which are more of effect parts, while together having a pair of closed fists and an extra pelvic area; basically he has two WELL MADE effect parts which would be his atomic breath and his booster legs but in order to use his booster legs you would need to switch his pelvic area with the extra piece.

Though as caution, his hands might be pretty hard to switch, so you basically slowly swivel it outwards so you can pull it out safely else forcing the pull might break the peg so just a little caution wouldn't hurt. While I pretty much like Gamera's accessories I still feel that they lack something, which would be Gamera's spinning jet effects (which is included in the recently released Showa Gamera) and is by far his known for trademark. XD

Articulation:

Being a backlog review that he is, he does not any joint limit testing; basically powered by revolver joints all over: his neck, shoulders, elbows, torso, hips, knees, ankles and I think 2 to 4 of those in his tail; As you all know (or not), Revolver joints are basically tight clicky hinges that has two sticks (one for each half) and thus allow you for some swiveling action; though, flexible as they are, some of Gamera's details would get in the way but understandable since Gamera's not really the type to go do insane poses because he is a freakin' daikaiju and daikaijus DO NOT do much and with such, this Gamera is pretty much godly already. He does have a hinge on his mouth so you can plug in his atomic breath and at the same time, this gives much more emotion for Gamera.

Overall all he's pretty badass and very kaiju-ish in the poses he can do and additional he has this famous "my mind is full of fu--" pose where you can make him look like he's having a severe headache (LOLOLOL!) But yeah, overall, he's totally fun to play with and with his really dashing looking effect parts (hey! they look like they're effin' glowing and does look realistic in many ways!), he's definitely not underwhelming for his worth.

Final Thoughts:

Well, the only gripe I ever had with Gamera is that for a daikaiju he's friggin small as hell (ironic right?) I mean, the alien's a lot taller than him, loli figmas are taller than him :o But yeah, the amazing thing still is for his small size, he definitely has a lot of awesomeness for his detail. So yeah, for any sci-fi revo collectors out there or just want to try it out, I'd definitely recommend Gamera as a good starter since you get a pretty good insight of the line with him. I guess for any Gamera fan, it's a pure win of a figure and there ends my feebacks on him.

Oh yeah, all sci-fi revos have their nameplates with them showing the character's name and which movie that was based on and as for this, it's definitely the Heisei Gamera which was entitled "Gamera: Guardian of the Universe" in the US I think.
