Review: [Bandai] S.I.C. Volume 42 Extra: Diecast Momotarosword

Figure Information
Manufacturer: Bandai
Origin Series: Kamen Rider Den-O
Scale: Non-Scale

Set Contents:

The reason why there's no price on the Information section is that because this was free with the first release of SIC Volume 42, thus, it's also limited in production but yeah, it's just a little bonus accessory from Bandai. Basically it has a blister card packaging and a background of SIC Catalog 2008; The cardboard in the blister is done in a sliding fashion so you can slide it out and in back in case you don't want to use the sword. So yeah, pretty neat.

The background is a mini booklet that shows all SIC releases to date back in Den-O's time as well as future releases at that time. It's a pretty neat catalog that shows not only just SICs but the Classics and Takumi releases as well.

Accessory Details:

Particularly the sword is the very same mold as the one Momotaros have; though as the name implies it's in pure Die Cast and is thus a bit heavy.

Detail wise, it doesn't lose a single bit to the regular sword; but yeah, a little bit of some paint apps could've made the sword look better but overall, it's a pretty nice sword even if it's just a pure reflective silver look.

Use:

Now we all know that Diecast and/or heavy weapons are one of the common enemies for the SIC joints since these joints usually give up somewhere along the way; but amazingly and probably due to it's size as well, the Vol. 42 guys can wield this weapon easily though loose joints will surely give up as my Sword Form's torso goes down when I raise his arm up while carrying this metallic piece of accessory; but I doubt that one can actually hold this for long amounts of time as the joints will surely give up somewhere along, but rest assured that the Vol. 42 guys can wield this quite well on first hand (unless, of course, you ridiculously loosen up the joints or you got unlucky getting loose joints)

But since this is an accessory, this doesn't mean it applies to Vol 42 alone for usage; it can be distributed to other SIC pieces of your choice if you don't want to give it to the guys it came packed with.

Final Thoughts:

If you're not a bit interested in it, well, then you've just wasted some time reading this but yeah, it's a pretty nice bonus but why should you really need it when Momo already has one that is more joint friendly and even looks more like a sword; but yeah, if you liked SICs because of the Diecast content and haven't gotten Volume 42 yet, then, you might want to wait for it to show up with this little bonus but yeah, it's pretty neat I think and does certainly better with Sword Form.
