Good Smile Company's Upcoming Nendoroid Hatsune Miku Absolute HMO Edition

And this is GSC's way of saying Happy Birthday Miku :p

And the famous vocaloid finally gets a fully articulated release.

This Miku is based on "Kimi ni, mune kyun. -Uwaki na Vacation-" song PV. Really cute Miku Two cute faces for her and really nice over sized sleeves. :D

She also comes with a drum set and sun glasses, and as you can see in the first pic, her headset has two different types, one with plugs out. The set also comes with decal faces for the original release of Rin and Len so they can join in Miku with the same face style.

Miku's set to be released on December for 4000yen. Well, you know me, this is surely an instant get :D More pics can be seen at GSC's page.

Review: [Volks] Hatsune Miku -Encore version-

Figure Info:
Manufacturer:
Volks
Series:
Vocaloid
Scale and Height:
1/6 scale measured as 22cm tall from base to the highest tip of the figure

Encore version?
Well, basically this is a reuse mold of the original Volks Miku with a new, better and lovelier face and a new set of arms. Probably people wanted Miku to be more moe and thus, Volks made this as an Encore XD Well, anyway, the first sentence kinda explains what the encore version is already XD

Anyway, this review is made earlier than the time posted since this is a somewhat "gift" from me for the birthday girl Vocaloid :p

Box/Packaging:
Well, Encore's box is pretty space-friendly to begin with, it's pretty simple but not boring in a sense and just about everything you will need to inspect can be inspected already on her box's window. The box is pretty cute especially the No. 3.9 which can be directly read as Miku. XD Anyway, as usual, I don't care about box designs that much as long as it's space friendly.

Face and Photogenic Appeal:
Well, yeah, like I said in the intro, she has a better face. Why is that exactly? Because she has a really lively and happy face in this version, IMO the most moe scaled Miku to date would be this version. Even beats my favorite GSC Miku in terms of having that "I'm dying because of cuteness" reaction XD Lively colors + a lively face does bring out a good appeal when shooting the figure. She's just sweet at many angles and thus, making her a really really nice Miku figure to get.

So, isn't she really cute? XD Anyway, like my usual reviews, my favorite shot goes after a few shots of the figures in different angles. Now, have that "So moe, I died" reaction, lololol!

Body and Details:

Volks made a pretty good job in terms of the her dress details, it's just lovely. Even her clothes has those really crisp folds which is at par with that of Max Factory's 1/7 Miku. Details on her clothes are just complete and fine, I don't have much to complain already. Well, for one thing I really want to hit on, it's her twintails. Volks just had to be lazy at this part, they made her tails a big lump of "hollow" colored plastic. Why hollow? Well, it's because the tails are very very light, probably done so the tails won't fall off but still, they could've put in some more details such as a bit separated hair edges instead of lumping her hair into one big piece of hair :p

Base:
Miku's base is really really small, I'm amazed how well it could balance the figure from such a size. It's pretty plain too but the least is it's black meaning it'd avoid those dust problems and have the color remain the same. The base also has her name in it.

Bonus Feature:
Now this is where the package really makes it one of the must haves scaled Miku figures around. Apparently, included in the package are all the parts from the original release giving the owner 2 extra right arms, an extra left arm and an alternate head/face. Thus, giving one a variety of a total of 12 different face-arm combinations, making it pretty much one of the most fun static figures I own. I only took shots of those that the original release can't do since I'm planning to get that in the future. XD

Overall:

Her price is definitely a win given the moesness and the wicked variety of poses to choose from for a static figure. I got her from Otacute with the help of a friend and she really does prove to be one of the best Mikus to date.

Remarks:
Face and Photogenic Appeal - 10/10
Body and Details - 8/10
Base - 8.5/10
Bonus Feature - 10/10
Price - 10/10
Overall: 9.3/10

And now for some final remarks...

Happy Birthday, Miku-chan~

If you're a Miku collector like me, this is definitely something that's hard to pass on, if ever you plan to get the Volks versions, get this, it's more available right now and it even has the parts of the original release for its price. Really pretty much a steal for its price already if you ask me. She is just very cute and pretty small too for a supposedly 1/6 scaled figure XD

Happy Birthday Miku-chan~

Don't want to be getting pics from google now XD

Anyway, as the title reads, today is Miku's 3rd "birthday" since her appearance to the world.

Miku's supposedly 19 years old now, lol. But anime/game/whatever timeline doesn't let our characters get old so... in a sense, Miku is still that cute 16 year old we all know and love~ :D

Anyway, A planned scheduled "gift" for Miku in this blog will go up as soon as August 31 starts, a figure review again of none other than Birthday Girl's figure. :3 Anyway, as for some things that will happen... Today, Good Smile Company will start taking reservations for Miku's newest nendoroid rendition which I will blog again later on~ Anyway, Happy Birthday again Miku~ May the world continue to be granted presence of such a wonderful Diva. ^^

More happenings earlier this year would be the release of Miku's Append version and the sequel to the PSP rhythm game, Project Diva, entitled "Project Diva 2nd". Anyway, those are old news already XD Anyway, it's 12 right now, so, with it I end this greeting :D

Null Memory

"Null Memory you say?" a worried, albeit handsome voice exclaimed.

"Yes, the look-up says it should be possible, extant even." replied his quirky partner.

"That... Can't be. The driver requires two souls to operate... But the Null Memory..."

"Will negate the requirement of the second soul. In short, I don't have to participate in this pointless exercise, am I right Shoutaro?"

I would never have thought he would find it. While it's true that he did inherit all the knowledge on Earth in that quaint brain of his, this "Null Memory" shouldn't even be... Real.

It's just not possible...

"So Shoutaro, find it already..."

"Huh?"

"The Null Memory. Find it already."

"You can't be serious Philip." I said to him in reply, visibly annoyed from his persistence.

"Oh but I am. I never wanted to be part of this... Waste of energy. I should be concentrating on harnessing the Planet's Bookshelf. Did you know that once the Spaniards discovered that the Earth itself is round, the prices of transportation to areas of significant distance from Europe diminished greatly? The mere knowledge itself triggered a worldwide revolution!"

"Eh?" I replied, more out of exasperation than out of the fact that I didn't understand a word of what he just said.

"Knowledge is all there is Shoutaro. Nothing more, nothing else."

Philip, as genius as he is already, is the inheritor of the Planet's Bookshelf, a library of literally all the knowledge there is on the planet. History, Geography, even the individual biographies of everyone who had ever lived or is currently living could be found in the bookshelves, and Philip has access to all of them. His mind of course would not be able to handle all this information, and he has to perform look-ups on specific topics to harness the infinite knowledge found in the library. This is invaluably useful, but look-ups could get very addictive to knowledge-hungry Philip, which in turn annoys me to no end.

"Shoutaro. Please. I'm serious..." he said, opening the door to his secret room behind our excuse for a detective agency headquarters.

"Huh?"

"I don't want to fight anymore." he continued, slamming the door as he finished the sentence.

"Find the Null Memory Shoutaro. Please."

His voice sounded hollow coming from the other side of the door. Was he merely consumed by his addiction, or was this what he wanted all along?

Good Smile Company's Upcoming Nendoroid Dead Master

Nendo just captures DM perfectly~

And the 30th entry on this blog for the month is another pre-order that just opened today.

Really cute, for me at least, the ones that perfectly capture the characters from the BRS OVA would be nendos, especially in DM's case, the smile, the lick, it's just perfectly DM in the anime. Anyway, the nendo will come with DM's skull servants and of course, her Dead Scythe as seen above.

As for her "wacky" face that GSC made nendos usually come with, it's pretty much the same with BRS's, a lazy looking face but... DM has two head bumps, lool. XD

She's a sure get for me in all ways, because I just Yomi. She's slated for a December release for 3500yen. More previews can be seen at GSC's website. ^^

Good Smile Company's Upcoming 1/8 Sengoku Nadeko

Such a lovely piece of work GSC

Well, she's one of those figures for next year XD

I have to admit, Bakemonogatari has a number of lovable female characters. But this figure, it's just too beautiful. You must be wondering why her leg is cut, it's supposedly about to give the feel that her remaining leg is under water with the base being water itself. Well, I dunno, it didn't work for me, looks weird when the leg is in half way through the water base. Somewhat a good concept but not so good figure translation. But anyway, to those who would think the same as me, GSC's given us an option for an alternate legs, which has her full legs shown.

As stated above, Nadeko is slated to be released January 2011 for 9800yen. Although I love the figure very much, I'm still hesitant for her, since the price is quite high for me and she doesn't look like something that's supposed to be in that price range XD So, for a while, I hesitate. More pics of Nadeko at the GSC site.

Max Factory's Upcoming Figma Miyafuji Yoshika

More figma for you figmas collectors

This time, Max is hitting on Strike Witches XD

Well, I haven't watched the series yet although I've seen the scaled figures and I actually like their appearances, Girls with airplane like legs, hmmmmm. XD Anyway, her plane legs have the propeller parts and also her gun. The pack also includes her human legs, the faces are really cute as well if you ask me :D

Miyafuji's slated for a November release for 3500yen. Well, if I was collecting figmas, I would've gotten one for myself, figmas rarely make a "good" impression on me for some reason. XD More preview pics from Good Smile's site

Good Smile Company's Upcoming Blue Eyes White Dragon and Red Eyes Black Dragon

Two magnificent pieces of work but wait! There's more than just that :p

Awesome looking but you'll be surprised of the prices, lol.

These two are really done very well, the texture the base the details and even the color, everything's a win but... Each piece costs 70000 yen, so, those who would want both will have to shed 140000 yen to get them. Both of them are to be released on December. I initially wanted Red Eyes but after seeing the price, no thanks XD More pics from their respective pages: Red Eyes, Blue Eyes.

S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider Ichigo (The First version) Official Previews

Last batch for now for KRs XD

Tamashii website just spammed the updates over the past few days

Basically, The First version is a recolor of ancient The Next version of Ichigo with only a few mold changes mostly for his helm. Whether this will have a new articulation or not is unknown or even if there will be improvements from the previous one's flaws. Ichigo The First version is also slated for a release next month for 2625 yen. More pics at Tamashii Website.

S.I.C. Kiwami Tamashii Vol. 14 Official Previews

And so, most of Tamashii's September releases have been updated with pics

Here's SIC KT King Form.

I actually dig the KT's rendition of King Form, it looks more menacing and the articulation of this would most likely be better by a long shot compared to the regular one. SIC KT's are just around 10cm tall, but still you get an SIC in terms of detail, it's like paying less for an SIC. Anyway, one more pic from Tamashii Website show King Form wielding the Bley Rouzer, I'm not sure if the Bley Rouzer will be included or they just used the one included with the KT Blade release.

Kiwami King Form as stated above will be out next month for 1260 yen. More pics at Tamashii website.
