Upcoming Figure: Figma Tsukihi Araragi
Fire sisters complete!
And we finally get the Phoenix :>
While certainly more skin showy due to her wearing a kimono, some people might feel awkward when seeing the figma joints in human skin; but hey, still Tsukihi-chan <3 Tsukihi comes with an alternate hair, an upset face and an angry face. Her accessories include a pan lid, a kitchen knife and an awl; additionally Max Factory has given us to display the little Phoenix in bare feet. (Do note, as every bake/nise character, it IS more worth it if you have the perverted Koyomi, lol)
Oh... and... It seems Tsukihi comes with a special holding hands that allows to connect her with her sister, Karen. Pretty neat eh?
Tsukihi is also set for November release for 3,500 yen.

Rerelease: Figma Koyomi Araragi
For the 2nd time around!
Ararararararagi-san is out for a another rerelease!
Once again the main hero of harem anime Bakemonogatari/Nisemonogatari hits the retails! For the 2nd time, Koyomi can be pre-ordered again and set for a November 2012 release, Araragi's still priced at 2800 yen. Definitely a great figma to get to interact with the rest of the Bake/Nise cast especially now that the fire sisters are also gonna be released soon!

Good Smile Company's Upcoming 1/8 Oshino Shinobu
Vampire Loli alert! (She bites alright :>)
And finally we get the complete cast of the main girls from Bakemonogatari
As another cover based work, this time we have Shinobu's loli form. I might say that it's the base that's the most intriguing part of the figure as it's a pile of donuts and as a bonus every important character in the series has a related item in there. As for Shinobu, well, loli vampire eating a donut with a cute fang? What more could you ask for? XD

Max Factory's Upcoming Figma Sengoku Nadeko
My favorite loli's figma is hereeeee! 8D
And I've already ordered one too XD
Anyway, following Kanbaru's release is none other than my favorite, Nadeko! While she's just cute and all, that's what her figma has as well; A really cute smile and an embarassed face which is pretty good for the Nadeko we've all come to know. Aside from that, she also comes with 2 versions of her jacket with the other one being blown by the wind which looks pretty nice XD She also comes with hands that are holding the charm she was asked to hold onto when the snake was being removed from her body. Lastly, her hat and jacket are, of course, removable!

Max Factory's Hitagi Senjougahara Reissue
Of course, along with Araragi...
comes his ever lovable tsundere girlfriend.
And it's none other than crab girl, Senjougahara.
While I'm still thinking on getting them, there's just a good amount of Hitagi in the local shop shelves in here right now, so, I guess, the real seller is Araragi and what best way to get them together if you don't have both yet. Senjougahara will be re-released on the same date (October) and price (2,800 yen) as of her boyfriend, Araragi. Review: [Taito] Bakemonogatari Nendoroid Petit Prize Sengoku Nadeko

Boxed isn't very well designed, it's basically same as most prize figure boxes only scaled down to fit a nendoroid petit such as Nadeko-chan here. It's barely design and really, it's probably the figure alone you'll be wanting to inspect upon seeing it first hand.

Being a prized figure that she is, we get just enough, the colors doesn't stand out too well, they look dull actually, and there's little to none detail on her outfit as opposed to how regular petits would be a little more detailed than this. But still for a prize figure, it's fair enough I guess given her price point. And what I really liked here is that she has her hair dyed green as the one we saw in the Renai Circulation OP of the series, it's pretty cute I think and she's even holding the charm that Araragi gave her I think XD One thing I'd like to note as the ultimate flaw though is that the ball that pegs on her back gets loose quite easily so it's a little annoying sometimes; also at some point, you also get to feel that they used cheaper shiny plastic on her though it doesn't appear obvious most of the time.
Of course, she does come with her cap, which you can opt to place on her head but is it just me or her cap here looks ridiculously large? D: And lastly, you cannot remove her jacket...

While a prize, this prize petit certainly does well on being at par (at least for me) with the standard petits in terms of charm and all. But one thing that really differentiates Nadeko from others is that, she doesn't have any points of articulation except her neck unlike standard releases (the Hitagi in the same line had more) So this pretty much makes her more of a static figure which is why the appeal section is here.
Basically, thanks to ball jointed necks, Nadeko does good in the appeal area since she can follow your angle (like wave's neck articulated figures).

While the cap does help give an entirely different feel, I really prefer Nadeko without a cap, as it's more cute in many ways and the cap really makes it a hard catch to shoot her face without messing around with the light's positions. Still, the options are your call. XD Really too bad we can't remove the jacket though.

Depending on your prefences, if you don't like prize figures in general, then simply don't even think about it, but if you are fine with them then, by all means, this Nadeko's pretty cute IMO and given her price point, you can just think of her as a really cute trading figure though you might have a hard time finding her on solo since she's usually bundle with 1 to 3 more from the set when seen on sale. As for me, I really just got her because she's Nadeko :3

Good Smile Company's Upcoming 1/8 Hachikuji Mayoi
Just beautiful! 8D
All I can say is... JUST GORGEOUS THIS LOLI IS! HNGHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Anyway, I really love the Bakemono line of GSC but passed on others except Nadeko, but yeah... Mayoi... is... tempting... The pose... The stare... it drives me crazy and aaaaaaaaaa DAT Ribbon.
I'm still so tempted but while I'm in hesitation mode, she's scheduled for another October released (and I'm already full BUT I WANT MAYOI!!! D:) for a surprisingly cheaper price of 7,800 yen. Pics and Info from GSC's page.

Max Factory's Upcoming Figma Kanbaru Suruga
One more joins the cast!
And Kanbaru's pretty cool too.
Kanbaru has a lot of accessories really, a basket ball, her "rainy devil" hand and what took me most by surprise was the additional of a silhouetted head (you know, the one that looks like a heartless from Kingdom Hearts) along with that yellow coat, which is totally awesome for some reason XD According to GSC's info page, aside from the faces you see here, there's supposed to be a closed eyed face as well. And yeah the coat is made of probably cloth so it wouldn't be of any limit, really neat.
And apparently, Araragi's a good punching bag :p I'm just not sure whether the effect part was packed with Araragi or not XD
Kanbaru is scheduled for a September release for 3500 yen. I'm still hesitating to get Kanbaru but she looks really epic esp the coat ver.

Review: [Good Smile Company] Sengoku Nadeko

Nadeko's box is visually appealing, the colors are very good, they're pretty much Nadeko's colors all in all but yeah, something about how the made the design kind of makes it great for me (probably being clean and simplistic but still have a great appeal) and to top that off, since you probably know (or not) that I hate big boxes, Nadeko's box is pretty average, it's not that ridiculously large and it's not that small either, it's just right.

Nadeko in this model is wearing the clothes she was wearing back when she was first introduced, BUT less her pants and had her wear the sukumizu that she got from Kanbaru. It's pretty interesting that her outfit has a lot of folds which pretty much suggests that it's wet since her model WAS based from her DVD cover wherein almost her lower half is sunken in water.
There's a little outer fold near her chest which pretty much is worth mentioning because inside that small opening actually shows you a blue paint, which means the sukumizu, why is this such an attention seeker? Well, some companies wouldn't bother doing so, and just make it full-on pvc inside instead of actually making a hole with more details like this. Anyway, since this was based from the artwork, well, the sukumizu is unavoidable but yeah, pretty much like one of its many uses, it does help bring out more loli goodness out of my fave Bakemono chara. Her forelocks are also done very well and just the way I like it when it comes to Nadeko. One minor compalin though is that they could've brought more life to the leaves hanging on Nadeko's outfit, it just looks too dull compared to the ones in the base details (which you'll see later)

And based from the original artwork, she actually wears a jacket and cap (and obviously from the shots above, they are removeable) the jacket's shading levels were pretty neat and actually displays a good case of Nadeko having movement due to the curved right arm sleeve and the its "movement" on the back. As for her hat, it's pretty much just there to really fit on her head but yeah still for a minor piece, it still have decent folds, shading and such (I don't really have a focus shot on the hat but you'll see it later.)
Now, as some readers would know, I FREAKING LOVE creative bases, it just gives MUCH MUCH more life to any figure and GSC does it again here, her base is actually supposedly water but yeah, very very well played, see those wooden stuff? They actually don't look off since the base's outer layer is made of a somewhat clear plastic and the way they were molded, there are actually water ripples around where you peg in the wooden materials, pretty neat huh? And yeah from the complaint I had above, you'd see the big difference between the ones on her clothes and the ones in this base. A little more interesting bits is that on the longer wooden stick, you'd actually peg two knives there but you have an option to actually peg it all the way in or leave it in a not so deep pegging position where the knives would actually look like they haven't been stabbed into that strong.
One thing was worried here before is that the actual artwork legs (in deep water) would actually look amputated since the base looked really flat before BUT GSC made a miracle, if you focus on her left half-leg, you'd actually see another water ripple which makes it more believable that she is indeed in a little deep part of a watery body instead of looking completely like an amputated loli.
And last thing really neat about Nadeko's overall? Well, an additional really interesting detail they added was to put a silhouette of the Jagirinawa BENEATH the watery base, a really really magnificent touch for me, I was actually surprised when I first opened her and saw that curse snake there.
But wait! Don't want the amputated loli? GSC was actually kind enough not to let their customers feel ripped off with a half body loli, they included full sweet legs for others who prefer it that way. But yeah probably the biggest fear I have here, is that Nadeko is actually supported only by a single peg which would be on her left leg, though the peg looks sturdy enough, it's still a pretty dangerous move since once you break it by accident or sort, well, yeah, you know the bad outcome, so, extra care with her for a friendly advice.

Nadeko has a VERY beautiful AND charming face, with or without the hat, she'll just look great in any of them and I must say that with the said cute face, she's also very photogenic, the way her face was made actually doesn't have much face blocking which makes her unbiased in terms of facial direction, thus, allowing one to capture still pretty good shots from side angles.
So yeah, photogenic pluses and faces aside, Nadeko has actually a lot of possible ways to be displayed, basically there are 4 by simplicity, 2 half bodies and 2 full bodies with a bare Nadeko and one with the hat and jacket Nadeko each. And if ever you choose to remove the hat and jacket, you can play around with them and hang them on the wooden sticks for added "base" creativeness and they actually fit pretty well.
All in all you actually have a total of 8 possibilities on how to display Nadeko and if you ask me the half body with the hat and the jacket being the best and safe (since I really think the full leg mode is pretty risky since it has more weight shifting) Additionally, I also love the hatless but with jacket Nadeko and the reverse (with hat but with jacket) being the least likeable option for me while the bare one being just fine but yeah, I just think inserting at least the jacket makes her more complete in a sense since it does add uniqueness to Nadeko escaping from the vision of being plain.

I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! I actually think she already toppled over all the other lolis in my favorites in my collection (YES, INCLUDING MIKU!) She's just pure win (or maybe be it's just me a heavily seduced being by Nadeko :p) in many ways, I mean, a variety of display options, a really wonderfully sculpted figure (SUKUMIZU to top it off), she's pretty much worth her price and she doesn't have any reported flaws or whatnot (at least from what I know of or heard of) The price is pretty much worth it and so yeah, I highly recommend this figure especially for those who like the series and the GSC lineup for Bakemonogatari (which IMO all of them looks righteous on their own). Nadeko is just let's say a "godly" scaled figure for me XD And to tell the truth back when I ordered her, I haven't watched the series yet and actually thought she was too expensive but I'm VERY VERY glad I gave in and ordered anyway!
