Kamen Rider Figures Update
These aren't enough to bulk up as a Murakami's Update and besides they're all rider goodies news, so, here, some might be a little late though XD
First thing's first is the announcement of an SH Figuarts of IXA coming soon, the product is done already, I mean, colors and all previews are totally out already, weird much but IXA came before Kiva, lol. Making him the first character from Kiva to be in the S.H. Figuarts line, but this also means no IXA for the S.I.C. line for now. XD It is not yet known whether this will be another exclusive or not but it is scheduled to come out on January 2010 for 3360 yen.
Now we go to little S.I.C. news
Decade's good to go as his colored preview is finally done, I have to say that Decade's normal form is totally awesome and I'm totally looking forward to getting mine already. Just glad it's not to pinkish while on the other hand, Complete form looks so-so. He's ok for me but he looks like a football player no matter how I look at it, I think Complete form has been too much buffed which makes it kinda distorded and hopefully, this one gets fixed since it's still early before it's finally released.
And last but certainly absolutely not the least, is the much awaited S.I.C. treatment of Kamen Rider Kabuto, for now only the sketch is presented and it's really looking good if you ask me, a definitely must get S.I.C. as early as now. XD

September Haul # 4
Right, if you've been visiting my site recently, I just added a Gekisou Yuki on my pre-order list a few days ago and poof, I got her today while at the same time going to Otakai's monthly EB. I hesitated on this one for just a while since when I got my extra cash for figures, I was thinking on either getting this or pre-ordering something else, while Gekisou Yuki is on level 4 wishlist on my tsuki account, she is by far the best rendition of Yuki that I want and with the help of some fellow collectors, I've decided to get her instead, had her reserved and got her earlier. :D Hopefully, she'll be the last this month.

Half-Boiled
Well, episode 2 continues from where we left at episode 1, with the appearance of the T-Rex Dopant. Well, certain turn of events I won't spoil so much but they did introduce something interesting though, which is having conflicts being two detectives as one. You'll just have to find out what conflict it was.
As far as Double's gadgets are concerned, it looks like they have more Gaia Memories than the 6 expected, in episode 2, Shotaro plugs a Bat and Stag Gaia Memory on his camera and other gadget, which turned them alive into a Kivat and Gatack Zecter like entities. Lol! Well, aside from that, Double's cycle also splits in half and his gigantic car carries the parts, his gadgets are really amazing.
Lastly would be that it is probably Shotaro only who can henshin while in Rider form, Philip's side is more on natural powers while Shotaro's side focuses more on fighting style (weapons, etc.) Before the episode ends, Akiko finally decides to go with the Detective stuff and names the agency as "Half-Boiled" instead of "Hard-Boiled", you'll find out why once you watch. And it seems there's gonna be a new Rider appearing very soon. Can't find a video yet so, I can't really show it, just watch it.
Well, that's it, hope I didn't spoil too much. :p

K-On! Beach Queens and Nanoha Figmas
I really don't do things like these but anyway, these are in the interests of my friends, so, might as well put them here. The following figures are now up for pre-orders at hobby search, though it isn't available to our country. XD

Wave Beach Queens 1/10 Mio Akiyama and Yui Hirasawa
Height: Mio (16cm); Yui (15.5cm)
Release Date: December 2009
Retail Price: 3800 yen each
Not bad really, I'm not really that picky in scales as long as it's not as big as regular 1/6s, it's ok, Mio's surely eye catching but seriously, getting either Mio or Yui would truly get to make you want to get the other to complete them, not a problem for me though. XD
As for the next, bunch of figures, they would be, as the title says, from the Nanoha line of figmas.

Murakami's Updates (September '09)
Probably the best variation of Saber EVER!
Here are some very minor news about things, some are pretty late already XD
Here are some very minor news about things, some are pretty late already XD
More exclusive Madness!
Even more delays.
The Hits Counter
Yeah, I want to find out how many viewers do visit my site so I finally attached a hit counter starting from 0 yesterday to see how often people visit my site.
Income and Hesitations
KR Continuation
A Thought on Team Blogging
K-On! Commercialization Continues!
The RQ version of Nendoroid Petit that was first shown on WF had been recently confirmed to be another exclusive but in terms of price, it's not as WTF as the original RQ Miku, it's price on 3000 yen and is only available through Ure10 Online Shop or Nico Online Shop. The set contains Miku, Luka and Rin as shown before and there are two different variation of the mini-car.
Even more delays.
Why am I not surprised anymore. WiM Miku had just been delayed like the usual, 2 annoying months of doom. But at least, I finally get my Saber Lily next time, thank goodness. Miku being delayed now shows that all my pending Mikus will be out by December. Talk about a merry Xmas assuming no more delays will happen. XD
The Hits Counter
Yeah, I want to find out how many viewers do visit my site so I finally attached a hit counter starting from 0 yesterday to see how often people visit my site.
Income and Hesitations
Finally getting my final batch of payment tomorrow and with that in mind, I am now hesitating on getting Gekisou Yuki Nagato, who recently became available, or the rare Max Factory Ryoko Asakura, I figured it's time to get more Haruhi girls and from my favorites too.
KR Continuation
Well, while KR W is currently on going, I've been side tracking on other Heisei series, and I've just finished Kiva over the week, it was good IMO, and it got me wishing for a Dark Kiva and IXA SICs, lol. I'm currently running through Den-O and hopefully I can also finish this within a week.
A Thought on Team Blogging
I've been running out of what to blog recently especially this month since ber months can be quite slow in news, so, I've been thinking on forming a team with some friends so I can somewhat keep the blog more interesting than usual. Hehe
K-On! Commercialization Continues!
upLark, a recently rising company, announces their new addition to their products, none other than K-On!'s Mio Akiyama in her school festival outfit. This surely is catching my eye and I must be very careful about deciding, lol!

September Hauls #s 2-3
Yeah, today's hauls are great, first one is in one of my top targets for my Rider Collection which is none other than S.I.C. Vol. 46 Kamen Rider Ichigo and his motorbike, Cyclone. Probably the only S.I.C. from the movie remakes, yeah, Ichigo and Nigo had two Movie Realization figures, but still MR is not pretty much S.I.C. in terms of design, just the body frame is the same and MR is supposedly a spin-off of S.I.C.
Second haul is more of an impulse buy, and it's Nia from TTGL, well, as much as I want the upLark Nia more, I don't have enough funds to take that anymore XD So, better go with Sega's Prize fig, she's still kawaii anyway. ^^
These two are probably last for the month, unless I get some funds to get SIC of Kamen Rider X and Apollo Geist. XD

Two People, One Rider
Well, I've watched the raw yesterday immediately after waking up from bed. XD Well, how was it? Was it any good? Well, as far as my personal concerns:
- Philip looks like a girl.
- How will they Henshin if they're apart?
- Can this be better than Decade?
- Philip looks like a girl.
- How will they Henshin if they're apart?
- Can this be better than Decade?
Well, they've all been answered and it's only the first episode so far. As far as Philip's criticisms from people like me, let me tell you already, don't let the appearance fool you! In reality, Philip is a lot more manlier compared to Kamen Rider Decade's Daiki Kaitou (who was showing some "bending" in certain scenes with Tsukasa Kadoya, lol).
Next would be the answer to the 2nd concern is that they can henshin into W no matter how separated they are, once Shotaro decides to go for a Henshin, Philip automatically gets the belt as well to give him a sign that they must henshin on that certain moment. And yeah, somewhat Philip's soul leaves his body and enters Kamen Rider Double's other half.
Third concern. IMO this has a lot of potential of beating Decade already from the first episode, W's 1st ep. is better than Decade's if you ask me. You just get to see how awesome they are on the first fight scene. Aside from that, I just find myself liking W's costume design more and more interesting, perhaps due to the OP of the series. Hehe, the opening song is nice too. Anyway, here's the opening song for the series.
Well, with the exception of W's weird looking Rider kick, the series has already managed to impress me, even W's vehicles looks too wicked. Anyway, why do I say that W's Rider Kick is weird? Well, watch it to find out. Hehe, I won't be spoiling pretty much in this series comapred to my test run episode reviews for the later parts of Decade.

Review: [Bandai] S.I.C. Volume 21 Jungler -Classics 2007 Edition-
Figure Info:
Manufacturer:
Bandai
Series:
Kamen Rider Amazon
Scale and Width:
Non scale
*will update once I measure the width of this cycle*
Jungler?
Well, basically when Amazon went to Japan, he really hates machines and later on when he met Tobei Tachibana, he was taught how to ride motorcycles. He hated it at first but when his friends got in danger, out goes Amazon without hesitation and rides a bike to follow Gedon troops. As a gratitude for saving his life, Tachibana creates the Jungler for Amazon and is thus used by him starting from that point. It is also seen in the manga Kamen Rider Spirits that Jungler has a mind of its own when it displayed the anime anger nerve when he was called something like a crappy machine.

Now here we are with the continuation of SIC Vol. 21's review...
I'll skip the box review since it's done already, just click on the link above if you haven't read it yet.
Details:
Well, I think the main selling point of Vol. 21 is indeed Jungler, actually even without Amazon, it's pretty much worth already, it's really heavy since a lot of parts are made up of die-cast. The re-imagined Jungler proves way better than the original, a really fitting design to be with SIC Amazon. The fin-like part in the back of the Jungler are removable and are also designed pretty well. Applaud to SIC line for this really epic motorcycle.

Features:
Jungler is pretty much for display only, it has a few features, like the stand(?) used to hold off motorcycles, it can be pulled down to hold the weight of this heavy bike and the front part of Jungler can be swayed to the left or to the right depending on your taste. The wheels are movable so you can make is run using some crazy invention. Lastly, Amazon wouldn't be packed here here if he can't ride it, that'd be ridiculous, lol.

Overall:
Being the main selling point, you really have to admire this piece of heavy machinery, really worth the price if you're the one carrying it, LOL. Anyway, the Jungler is really a bad ass machine getting the SIC treatment, you can't go wrong.

Well, don't have any pics this time so, I'll go straight forward this time, so, with contrast to what I've mentioned in Amazon's review, if you'd like the bike, go for it, it's just too awesome and believe me the bike itself is already worth the money already.

AAA-MAAA-ZOOON!
Daisuke Yamamoto, better known as Amazon, is an orphan who grew in the Amazon Jungle after he survived a plane crash from when he was still a child. He was entrusted with the Gigi Bracelet and was transformed into Kamen Rider Amazon a few moments before the Incan elder, Bago died. Left with an order to go to Japan, he eventually found his way in and befriended a child named Masahiko, who teaches him the ways in Japan. Going to Japan also led to the Gedon following him with the desire to get the Gigi Bracelet from him. This in turn causes the ones close to Amazon and innocent people to be involved. Anyway, Amazon was the first Rider not to follow an insect motif, it said that he's a lizard but some argues he's a piranha, I really don't know but based from his attacks, he acts more like a piranha since he usually bites his enemies and not to mention that he has fins in his back. Amazon has a rider kick but he rarely uses it and his finisher is called "Dai Setzudan", an attack that usually decapitates using his hands. Amazon's image below.
Since this is an SIC, no basis can be used since the more ferocious the design the better, I guess. so, here goes...
Package/Box:
If you checked the box above, you maybe wondering why there's a motorcycle. Yes, there is and it's Amazon's Bike, Jungler, which I will review right after this. The one I have is the Classics 2007 version so, it still has those double layered packaging which is pretty much good. The box is really wide due to Jungler but at least it's not that ridiculous space-wise.

Details:
As far as Design is concerned, Amazon IMO is one of the best SIC designed Riders, pretty much straying from the original look, he looks fiercer while at the same time giving you an idea that he still is Amazon. The back is fin is really detailed along with the red parts on his costume which makes him look like a lizard indeed, a chameleon to be exact. What's supposedly sharp are kept sharp along with his condorer belt and a die-cast Gigi bracelet and lastly his scarf made up of real cloth, how's that for resourcefulness. The joints are pretty loose in my case but still I think most of the old SICs have this "loose" joints issue.

Now for the pure win, Amazon's head, really really impressive, a fiercer look really helps and even the mouth was nicely done, really enough to somewhat "hide" the joints. ^^ The eyes are made from the usual material used for V3/Black's eyes.
Bonus Features and Accessories:
Well, not really much of a bonus feature but like I've mentioned above, his mouth has joints for it to open and for people to try a Jaguar Shock pose, lol. Really the mouth opening feature is really nice since Amazon isn't really Amazon without that. As for other features but not too important, Amazon has a condorer whip and nunchakus included in the accessories, so he can wield them, at the same time, Bandai didn't fail on this part since they provided a belt without the condorer. And for more weird features, you can switch the Gigi bracelet with the Gaga bracelet included in this pack.

Poseability:
Well, Amazon's poseability sucks to be frank, you can't even do most of his poses especially the post-henshin hand pose, where his arms are like slanting diagonally. Only a limited amount of Amazon's poses can be imitated, and it's up to your creativeness to deal with decent poses using the whip and the nunchakus. He can do his mid air Dai Setzudan pose though. ^^

Overall:
Well, SIC Amazon is good enough but you should treat him more of a statue to be contented since he really lacks poseability due to body and joint restrictions. But yeah, his price is pretty good considering the fact that you are mostly paying for his Bike in this pack. But still SIC Amazon is pretty wicked.

Amazon Raidaaa, koko ni ari~~~
Well, yeah, if you buy SICs for poseability I really suggest you pass on this but unless you want the Bike, go get it. Amazon is pretty much worth for me, since even with a few poses available, he'd look awesome already even on just a standing pose. Not to mention that the design is truly amazing IMO. Anyway, I'll follow this with a Jungler review since I consider them separate figures.Part 2 of the review here.

The journey is far from over...
Time for some feedback on Decade series as premiered in the TV sets of Japan.
Yes, basically Decade is a really good KR series to watch, totally epic by bringing together all the Heisei riders while having its own plot twists compared to the original shows. Decade being said to be the destroyer of all and he goes on a journey and makes comrades out of the worlds that he's supposedly "destroying". Well, by the time he landed on RX's world, the story finally begins to make some sense and build up for the ending with the appearance of Dai Shocker, an organization made up of several enemies from different Rider worlds. The series end brings us to the Rider War, first seen at the beginning in Natsumi's dream.
The building of plot was certainly good when Decade reached this point in the series but how did it end?
The building of plot was certainly good when Decade reached this point in the series but how did it end?
MAJOR LETDOWN!
The series just ended Apollo Geist's reign but still left a lot of viewers hanging because it certainly is not yet finished and here we are getting a preview of the finale which will land in Japan cinemas on December which will finally conclude the Rider War and said to unfold the mysteries behind Decade. Well, going back to the final episode, Super Apollo Geist was lamely destroyed, just watch to know how. And we are left with Natsumi's dream coming true with her shouting "Dikeido!" before the Decadriver shows up and leaves everyone in a hanging and disappointed moment. For another note, Kenzaki Kazuma, the original Kamen Rider Blade returns in this world and he is still the Kenzaki from where we left him in Blade series, he has the ability to Henshin to King Form immediately instead of Blade then going for an evolution King. He shows to blame it on Decade (yeah, like Narutaki) and eventually pawns the hell out of Decade in his ungod mode. Clip here:
The original Wataru also returns to say that Decade fails and punches the hell out of him back to the Rider War and here, we are hanging like shit. Seriously, the way they presented Decade was pretty good but ruining the finale with a Movie finisher isn't just fair, esp. for us who'd have to wait until next year to finally watch the finale. Here's the movie trailer BTW:
Well, that's my final Decade Update. I'll try to watch Double and see if it's interesting or not, if it is, expect a semi-spoiler updates like these too for that series.
Review: [Alter] Asahina Mikuru -Maid version-

Figure Info:
Manufacturer:
Alter
Series:
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu
Scale and Height:
1/8 and approximately 20cm tall.
Mi-Mi-Mirakuru Mikuru!
Asahina Mikuru is one of the main characters from the series, she's regarded by Haruhi as moe (which is pretty much true), a somewhat clumsy character (but still cute) who you'll often see crying and pretty much in a cosplaying manner since she changes outfits from time to time. Mikuru is a classified information (Time Traveller) but really is just there in the series mostly for being the cute one and almost doing nothing. (But I still like her though :p) This Alter figure is based on the costume Mikuru wore during the Festival wherein they have a soba stand. Images of Mikuru below:

Very well, without further delay, I shall begin the review.
Package/Box:
Well, Alter's not the type to fully give themselves a hardtime designing the box, but hey it works and sometimes, the simpler the box the better. Box is fit enough to carry easily and to contain the fig so... That's that I guess.

Face and Photogenic Appeal:
Well, as long the face is concerned, I like Alter's Mikuru the best out of all the Mikuru figs out there. Not too cheerful and there's always a calm nature when you look at her. Really nice work from Alter.

As for photo appeal, Mikuru is great in this one, try different angles and she'll come out great, this is just one great figure IMO. Really lovely and it's always nice to look at any time. Mikuru will look cute in any of the 3 sides I usually capture.
Body and Detail:
Now for the details, starting from the head to the toe, she's really well-made, the hair is just nice, not unlike some of Koto's hair work. Even the maid headband is done impressively. As far as Mikuru having large oppais is concerned, Alter doesn't fail on that, it's really really noticable at one glance, her outfit is just too impressively done, the ribbons, everything even the cups of water she's serving are quite detailed, you'll see some ice block like material inside those cups which shows that it contains water. I just love every bit of detail from this figure, I mean, the stockings, the skirt, everything! That's Alter for you. ^_^

Paint job:
One major part of most of Alter's figures are the paint work on their figures, and this Mikuru certainly has the charms added because of the magnificent paint job from Alter, the colors picked are perfect not to mention getting the correct color of Mikuru's hair since other figs tend to make her hair orange which isn't so in the anime.

Base:
Well, if there's anything that concerns my criteria is that Alter tends to keep their bases simple, look at this, it's plain black but good thing it's black I prefer simple bases to be black and not space greedy and this one is pretty nice for making things simple IMO. Well, but the lack of a more creative base will somehow get a demerit, oh well, you know me. Package doesn't count but bases certainly do.

Overall:
Mikuru was my favorite moe fig before Miku came storming my collection. Alter had certainly made a remarkable work here, definitely, this Mikuru is one of the best moe figs I have in my collection and the price is pretty affordable too since Alter still hasn't sky-rocketed in the prices when this was released. ^^

And then... some final words...
Alter is the best for me in terms of paint and good sculpt but of course, I have my biases for choosing GSC as the best and it's pretty easy to find the reason why, lol. Well now, is Mikuru that worth? A big YES, actually, turning down on Alter's figures are big losses if you ask me, their figures are just too great even years back. And this Mikuru is IMO the best they produced in their Haruhi line. So, go go, get it! :p
