Hauls: A Month and a Half's Pile Up

 July Hauls

 1st Half of August Hauls

Well, here's a major lootfest, since I wasn't able to post them for a while due to business (with work, Team Onii-chan activities, Dragon Nest and dear homerunchan).

But anyway, a breakdown of the loots (do not that there is 1 figure set that I wasn't able to take a picture of XD):
- Black Rock Shooter Limited Edition DVD Box
- Banpresto Bakemonogatari DX Figure Sengoku Nadeko
- Takara Tomy Transformers Animated TA-05 Prowl
- Figma 132 Irisviel Von Einzbern
- D-Arts Vava
- Nendoroid 220 Megurine Luka Cheerful version
- Takara Tomy Transformers Prime AM-12 War Breakdown
- GSC 1/8 Miki Sayaka
- Ques Q 1/8 Yakumo Yukari
- Hasbro Transformers Hunt for the Decepticons Brimstone
- Takara Tomy Transformers United Black Optimus Prime
- Sega Prize Figure Fairy of the Music Hatsune Miku
- Megahouse Excellent Model Series Saya and Haji
- S.H.Figuarts Cure Lemonade
- S.H.Figuarts Cure Berry
- S.H.Figuarts Cure Passion
- Kotobukiya ARTFX J Hiei
- Takara Tomy Transfomers Prime AM-15 Vehicon
- Hasbro Kre-O Transformers Decepticon Ambush (not in the pictures above)

So yeah, one of these miraculously got a rather "quick" turnaround time for me to review and it's none other than the BRS DVD Box which contains figma Insane Black Rock Shooter; I also happen to have lent IBRS along with Yukari and Sayaka during our recently concluded display at Otaku Expo Reload, coverage of which you can view at my facebook fanpage or at Team Onii-chan's fanpage.

The list of hauls also makes me taking on new Transformers lines such as the Animated line with Prowl being my first from the line, also opening me in stepping into the what I dread/spite, the Arms Micron line with Breakdown (since he's a Takara exclusive) and Vehicon (for army building purposes). Also, I've managed to snag a Kre-O set and finally got an answer to my biggest Kreon question: "Can Kreons clip to a regular Transformer's clip on ports?" and the answer is a big YES, really tight fit too!

The others are a bunch of the usual articulated figures and scaled figures I've been hauling and actually Cure Lemonade and AM Vehicon are gifts from my friends. So... yeah, as much as I want to review some of these, my review area is temporarily unavailable due to the fact that it's being used as a box storage right now. My sister promised to help me clean up, so... once that's done, reviews would probably be back to be being more frequent. But anyway, that's it for my hauls. XD

2011 Year End Hauls

These are basically my hauls from the Ozine Anime Figure Special as well XD

Free Tarp wooooo~

As mentioned in the previous post, we had touhou as one of the major series lineups for our display and each series received certain tarps and unfortunately, the Touhou tarps weren't used but was still up for grabs and thanks to Sensei, I got this touhou nendo tarp featuring a mind bending "you know me so well" character lineup since my top 2 favorites are there, Cirno and Sakuya, hahaha. Youmu's the other one BTW XD

Anyway, the Racing Miku straps would be the sponsor item for the figma RQ Miku which is yet to arrive here, figma Ayase also finally arrived and since I'm back to normal blogging phase for a while, expect her review to go up very soon. Lastly, you might remember that I got Aku no Musume Rin already before but I still didn't like Rin back then... so... I sold it and I finally managed to get it back after a year lol. So yeah, these 2 figures are my final hauls of 2011. XD A bunch of reviews would come soon since I can't shoot right now due to low battery of the camera. XD

Review: [Sega] Vignetteum Cute Ryoko Asakura

Figure Information
Manufacturer: Sega
Origin Series: Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu
Scale: Non-scale
Height: Approximately 5cm tall
Original Price: 700 yen

Figure Box:

The box is pretty small, and kind of resembles those of the nendoroid prize petits though the Vignetteum does a better presentation since there's an art of the figure on the sides and in Ryoko's case, the front has Haruhi and like all prize-like items, this box is the very same for the other 3 characters that were released together with Ryoko here, I guess the multi color works and does really achieve a cute feel (at least for me) XD

Figure Details:

Now the whole detail thing is pretty simple, the gym outfit is just a mass bulk of plastic colored in white, no other details and whatever but I guess it's pretty neat given her price point and besides I really did love the paint apps on her hair it's really a spot on subject. And those the base maybe look off being red and all the details goes attention to the setting, which is a scene in Haruhi where Kyon and co. checks on the girls. And though made like bowling pins as the base/background scenery detail, you can easily identify the Haurhi boys behind. So that's a pretty great job for me XD

Appeal:

Now one thing that's for sure for me is that the art and the figure representation are two completely different pieces, in the artwork, Ryoko does look really cute but as for the figure, she looks really sly, LOOOOL! And I think that pretty much works for Ryoko as a character.

The head joint does help in appreciating the rather really plain figure more. I guess the only real complaint I have is the how they made the blush but idk, sometimes it looks off to me and at times, it really looks cute, pretty much a double edged move I guess. But still I won't deny that this is quite a nice catch for me and my Ryoko collection.

In case any of you would wonder, you can switch heads of vignetteum cute pieces with nendoroid petits and it'll be a really good fit; it's also applicable for the Queen's Blade petits as I've tried in my Airi. :3

Final Thoughts:

Like Cute things? Well, I guess, these pieces are pretty recommendable since they are after all, cheap to begin with and in addition they're perfect for interaction if you're a nendoroid petit collector. But of course, character-wise, get this only if you love Ryoko like me or you want the gym outfit XD Since for me, Haruhi's the best in this wave.

June Hauls: Anniversary Loots and The Black Tower Born Digimon

Late post! LATE POST!!!

So yeah, these are probably going to be the last hauls for this month.

Since this is a late post I just posted separate hauls on this one, technically the first pic is what the title first says, Anniversary hauls, and my hobby anniversary would always land on which day the Toy Convention falls in here since this wallet draining hobby started there 3 years ago XD So yeah, anniversary hauls was supposedly just Den-O Sword Form and Momo but thanks to a sudden sales back at Toycon I managed to grab up United Laser Optimus Prime in preparation for MakeToys' upgrade parts. Ryoko on the other hand is one of the minor Toycon loots XD since she was cheap and I really needed one. :p

On the other hand, 2 days later, I went to my supplier and got my first exclusive D-Arts which is Black War Greymon. Reviews on this guy would probably up than the other guys since he's just a comparison review in a sense. So yeah, there, expect the reviews to be up in between some TF reviews XD

Review: [Sega] Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya Extra Figure Asakura Ryoko

Figure Information
Manufacturer: Sega
Origin Series: Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya
Scale: Non-scale
Height: Approximately 18cm tall
Original Price: 1,250 Yen

Figure Box:

While prize figure boxes don't really appeal to me that much as more often than not, their boxes are down right boring and unattractive, only the figure seen in the window actually gives them their pull factor, this one actually has a nice design and it's the same with Haruhi's box, it's a vibrant blue with snow flakes in its design kinda appealing to me for some reason I do not have any idea of. XD Anyway, you might be wondering why I didn't put Melancholy in the info, well, since the box says so and this Ryoko is indeed the one we saw on the movie, just make her series the movie then.

Figure Details:

Well, let's see, as we all know, Prize figures aren't that great in details but sometimes, they do pack some nice details with them. So what of Ryoko's case? Well, I guess pretty average, her hair is nicely done, the layers and all I like it though the edges could've used more sharpness. Hey, I'm asking too much? well, Sega does pull off quite some awesome prize figures at times and I kinda regard them as the best in Prize Figures, so, yeah, a little high expectations sometimes XD

Her outfit is pretty average as well, only really some more details I would've wanted is for the frilly part near her shoulders so it would actually look better all in all, but yeah, aside from that, the other parts are just fine and her apron is quite cute too if you ask me. XD Well, the actual major letdown here would be the food in the pot, well... it just looks too blocky or something, and they could've used more color to put at that XD

Her base is identical to sega's common bases for most of their prize figures, a white circle but this time, Ryoko comes with prints of multicolored silhouettes of Haruhi. Well, not pretty attactive or anything, but it's not really my thing to hit on details due to their bases. So yeah, it's fine as it it, at least, it's not ridiculously boring and a space eater at the same time.

Appeal:

Going to the appeal, well, I have to say, this is one of the few Ryokos where she's actually very cute and nice looking and IMO, this is also one of the few figures where I actually wasn't able to take a yandere shot as she's just giving a downright friendly appeal like she initially did in the movie.

And despite the lack of details, her pull factor would be on her charming look, but yeah, even her charming look would only be that charming in selected angles and her eye direction isn't anything good enough for you to actually enjoy it in many ways given a 360 degree rotation unlike some figures who are given their standing pose.

Final Thoughts:

Well, some would probably pass on her because of the fact that she's a prize figure, but she's pretty fine but not something I would really recommend, but for a Ryoko fag, definitely a good piece and something a little fresh where you actually don't see her combat knife anywhere XD And as we all know, prize figures are cheap, so, you actually don't lose big time given her lack of details since you are getting what you actually paid for. XD
