Hauls: A Month and a Half's Pile Up

 July Hauls

 1st Half of August Hauls

Well, here's a major lootfest, since I wasn't able to post them for a while due to business (with work, Team Onii-chan activities, Dragon Nest and dear homerunchan).

But anyway, a breakdown of the loots (do not that there is 1 figure set that I wasn't able to take a picture of XD):
- Black Rock Shooter Limited Edition DVD Box
- Banpresto Bakemonogatari DX Figure Sengoku Nadeko
- Takara Tomy Transformers Animated TA-05 Prowl
- Figma 132 Irisviel Von Einzbern
- D-Arts Vava
- Nendoroid 220 Megurine Luka Cheerful version
- Takara Tomy Transformers Prime AM-12 War Breakdown
- GSC 1/8 Miki Sayaka
- Ques Q 1/8 Yakumo Yukari
- Hasbro Transformers Hunt for the Decepticons Brimstone
- Takara Tomy Transformers United Black Optimus Prime
- Sega Prize Figure Fairy of the Music Hatsune Miku
- Megahouse Excellent Model Series Saya and Haji
- S.H.Figuarts Cure Lemonade
- S.H.Figuarts Cure Berry
- S.H.Figuarts Cure Passion
- Kotobukiya ARTFX J Hiei
- Takara Tomy Transfomers Prime AM-15 Vehicon
- Hasbro Kre-O Transformers Decepticon Ambush (not in the pictures above)

So yeah, one of these miraculously got a rather "quick" turnaround time for me to review and it's none other than the BRS DVD Box which contains figma Insane Black Rock Shooter; I also happen to have lent IBRS along with Yukari and Sayaka during our recently concluded display at Otaku Expo Reload, coverage of which you can view at my facebook fanpage or at Team Onii-chan's fanpage.

The list of hauls also makes me taking on new Transformers lines such as the Animated line with Prowl being my first from the line, also opening me in stepping into the what I dread/spite, the Arms Micron line with Breakdown (since he's a Takara exclusive) and Vehicon (for army building purposes). Also, I've managed to snag a Kre-O set and finally got an answer to my biggest Kreon question: "Can Kreons clip to a regular Transformer's clip on ports?" and the answer is a big YES, really tight fit too!

The others are a bunch of the usual articulated figures and scaled figures I've been hauling and actually Cure Lemonade and AM Vehicon are gifts from my friends. So... yeah, as much as I want to review some of these, my review area is temporarily unavailable due to the fact that it's being used as a box storage right now. My sister promised to help me clean up, so... once that's done, reviews would probably be back to be being more frequent. But anyway, that's it for my hauls. XD

May Hauls: The Impulse Bunch

All of these... weren't really on my pre-orders

A bunch of impulse buys I guess and 2 gifts! =))

Well, to start off, first among these hauls would be the TF Prime RID ones, I don't really dig the Arms Micron line because of the stickers and that's what made me get the Hasbro releases since if you had noticed I would usually prefer getting the Takara releases except when Hasbro proves to the be the better one for my preference or when there's a slight or no difference at all like the Movie lines and lastly, when only Hasbro has it like PCC (but United line will be releasing 4 PCCs soon) But anyway, we only have wave1-3 here (I think) and aside from Soundwave and Wheeljack, Vehicon is amongst the top list of hard to find since people usually hoard them (I understand the army builders but scalpers... well... screw it :p) And I happen to come across 1 and instantly got it with Ratchet being tagged along the purchase since I really love Prime's Ratchet and for once on my time for the TF collection, Hasbro has done a very clean white on Ratchet making the Takara an instant pass for me. XD

Next up would be some nendo petits from Madoka, I didn't really intend on buying them but when a friend of mine opened a group buy I just had to get the Blue Justice Girl lol, Sayaka of course, so, I instantly reserved the two and got them during Team Onii-chan's last display which was at Vocafusion.

And last but not least, a friend of mine went to Japan so I asked him to get me a G2 Gamera for a nifty price (cheap blogger is cheap lol!) and he got me one for 2.6k yen, a fair enough price I guess; after I got him, another friend of mine reminded me of an available UN WfC Prime around, so, when we checked, he was still there, and I bought it at a steal price since he IS quite rare already these days and thus also completes my WfC Rival pair. The Charlotte strap and the other one beside her, a *you know* doujin of Cure Peace are souvenirs from Japan that my friend gave me. I wasn't expecting a doujin and Cure Peace to boot @.@ oh well, hahahaha. But anyway, that's it for my final hauls this month.

Recent Hauls: Magical Characters, Warriors and a Scientist

It's a pretty big mass of unblogged stuff...

But the lower picture was just obtained 3 days ago XD

Okay, so, having been busy going out and playing sometimes annoying Dragon Nest. I wasn't able to blog that much and thus, missing my ability to actually phost the last wave of April hauls on April itself. loooool. But Anyway, April hauls consists of articulateds and a certain nerdy yet wonderful scientist named Makise Kurisu in her scaled figure form by Good Smile Company. Anyway, figmas consists of Mami and Kenshin, Mami was a no brainer since she is my 2nd favorite in the series while Kenshin, well, she looked awesome even if I am not familiar with the eroge itself XD And last but not least, completing my Max Heart cast is SHF Shiny LoliLuminous, who also happens to be in my top list from my favorites in the cureverse. XD

Moving on to the main month hauls, this is probably going to be my grandest haulage of the month, notable for finally completing my Madoka Mahou Shoujo figmas with the yuri buddies, Sayaka and Kyoko arriving at the same time. XD Adding up to my Sayaka fangasms would be her nendo who also happens to have been released last month. XD

Now Wheeljack and Kurisu are actually hauls from the first day of the month after the pigfest we did at PapaJohn's unlimited Pizza promo. While the TF Prime RID line was just released late month there are quite notorious pieces who bites the dust quickly namely Soundwave, Vehicon and Wheeljack for being the top 3 hardest to find pieces after the release. Luckily, I informed my friend about it and he volunteered to get me a Wheeljack and so I finally got him! Also from the same friend, I also got figma Kurisu for a friendly price despite how much she's picking up these days...

And last but not least would be my 2 scaled figure hauls, while I've been into articulates since some time last year, I still can't pass up some scaled figures and in this case, Alter's Luke and Phat's Ran. While Luke is a must have since I am a Tales series fan, the figure itself is good and I can't wait to have the time to shoot him and put up a review. Ran, on the other hand, while looking pretty cute thanks to my favorite sculptor, YOSHI, is pretty much worth every penny; would you believe that Ran actually weighs 1kg? Phat did an amazing job by making his fox tail totally solid plastic, you really can feel the weight if you hold the box in person. XD

But anyway, that's it for now, bandai news will follow after a certain late bandai product news, looool.

February Hauls: The First Half Bots and Magical Girls

So yeah, pardon the slow updates since I've been really busy at work recently @.@

Anyway here are hauls from the first half XD

Well first thing's first I also was unable to post my last two hauls last month which are two more TFs, namely PCC Bombshock which I can now stop pursuing since I only have around 1 or 2 more nice to haves from the line but not necessarily something that I need to get. Sandstorm also closes my HA from DotM since he was the last must have for me, especially now that I also got Whirl who was another nice to have.

Now my first few was Takara editions of the first Edition molds for Bulkhead and Cliffjumper from the Transformers Prime series, many thanks to my usual source for making me able to get these two (and I should be bringing home Prime by next month).

Next would be two blonde magical girls; my Touhou figmas are now one more step to being completed now that I got Marisa and at a really cheap price too courtesy of a friend of mine ^^. Also my first Nendo from the Madoka series arrives and it's none other than my first favorite in the series, Mami! (only to be later replaced by Sayaka XD)

Lastly, as I have said above, Whirl was a nice to have but my sister paid half of it sooo, I got it, thanks sis! :D And next is Guzzle, I was amazed how much he homages his G1 self and so, I wanted to try at least 1 Cyberverse toy, he does look too puny when compared to a scout class but yeah, I still need to see if Guzzle will remain in my collection in the long run or not, in case he does, then expect MakeToys Seaspray and Powerglide to come home in the future too looool.

But that's it for this haul post. I still have a lot of reviews coming but I'm really just busy so I can't post them right away T_T

January Hauls: Miku and The Transformers

Last wave of hauls for January!

And this sums up my hauls from today til 2 weeks ago.

So yeah, first of the 4 is actually Jazz, from two weeks ago, lol. With the help of my friend, I was able to win United Jazz for a very cheap price despite the fact that he used to be rare and still quite expensive right now. I've tried the RTS version but UN really wins it for me for some reason, maybe the whiteness of it and the non existent rubsign which I don't really dig.

Next is my hauls from last week, figma Racing Miku finally arrived and yessss she also marks as my 36th Miku in the collection. >:) I'm actually surprised that her price right now is batsh*t expensive and luckily I got mine for quite a friendly price. :) Also, Maketoy's Battle Tanker upgrade also arrived last week so I got it and I immediately assembled it to get rid of derpy ol' Laser Prime.

And from today's Lazer Tag session with JPToysPH, I grabbed up Cyclonus from the 3-pack since I've always wanted it and not rodimus and galvatron since I have other targets for their molds. I got it loose for 600php which is a pretty neat price and the joints are also tight. :D

Anyway, here ends my current haul post!

A Merry Christmas To All of You!

Santa lolis? How I wish they really exist!

I was out the house almost the entire day so here's a late greeting XD

I would say Xmas isn't so alive this year in our country for some reason, it's like a normal day and top it off since we can't put xmas decors due to tradition because as you might (or not) remember, my Dad died a few months ago. But hey, Xmas is still Xmas, a time of lovin and all XD So, to my fellow collectors, readers, friends and whatnot, a merry merry Xmas to all of you! I sure went pig mode today lololol! So, yeah, that's it for the greeting but... as the song says, there are 12 days of Xmas, so, let's enjoy it shall we and 2011 is soon ending as well. Whether the 2012 prophecy is true or not, let's just enjoy life as we know it and I sure am thanks to a certain Homerun-chan XP

Anyway, I guess I'll punch these in for my last Xmas wave and the actual Xmas gifts since they aren't orders, one of them is a gift from my sis (wooooot) while two others are bought by me since they're on ridiculous clearance. So yeah, that's it and a Merry Xmas again! XDDD

November Hauls: The First Half

Hauls!

I've been too busy playing Dragon Nest recently so, late posts and no reviews recently XD

Miku Append actually arrived last month but since I asked my friend to get it from amiami instead of where I usually get my stuff, I had to wait when he was available so I only got it on November's first Sunday XD. I've got a lot of stuff waiting to be opened and review and hopefully I can proceed soon enough.

As for the other, I was out on a client meeting last Tuesday and when I was about to go back to the office I dropped by Glorietta to eat lunch and eventually passed through Toys R Us along the way back, to my surprise, they already had Transformers Prime's Wave 1 of Deluxe classes along with the Deluxe Prime and Megs set. Though I would usually wait for the Takara releases, the hasbro counterparts were good enough (except for Bumblebee's cheap colors) and so, without further delay, I got my first Starscream and maybe I'll try to get Arcee next time along with Bulkhead as my only hasbro targets, I'll most likely be hitting Takara's Prime releases once they're out. XD

October Hauls: First Half Bulk

Managed to snagged these guys from last week to yesterday XD

Thus, the first half bulk.

SIC FJ and Skull were my hauls from last week also at the very start of the month, since I had to finally get it from my supplier and hopefully I'd be able to review it soon since as you know, collecticon yesterday and today, so, no new reviews this week, just some backlogs again.

As for the TFs, as news got out that the generations line got marked down, I was really targeting either Kup or 3 Scourges, but none of them were there when I visited the mall's toy store and saw Lugnut instead (also marked down and now hard to find at the said price). I really wanted him before and when I got the chance I still hesitated though but after flipping 3 coins and getting 3 heads, I got him lol. Lastly, for the Sons of Cybertron, well, the collecticon sure was a nice spot for finding some good TF deals and this was one of them, priced at approximately 40 USD, I immediately got it as it does fetch much higher in GH and I've always wanted the clear Rodimus (but as for Optimus, I might just sell him though lol). Anyway, that's it for now.

Review: [Hasbro] Transformers Revenge of the Fallen N.E.S.T. Global Alliance Bludgeon

Figure Information
Manufacturer: Hasbro
Origin Series: Transformers: Cyber Missions
Scale: Non-Scale
Height: Approximately 18cm tall (head tip)
Original Price: 20 USD

Figure Box:

I'll make this section quick since he isn't my first RotF Voyager review XD I'll just focus on his "art" which is the head image on his box, so yeah, Bludgeon's a bit weird, he definitely got the samurai-ish feel to him but his head just looks a little too wide but enough of that, I just really wanted to stress that out :p On to the figure itself then!

Figure Details:

So as you can see in the box, he's a tank, I could say that the tank mold itself IS definitely one solid tank mold but when I breakdown into actual details, it's pretty much not a perfect tank in any friggin' way. While the green color is indeed nice and the tank details just pop out nicely, there are some awkward looking parts of the tank; one of such is the sudden entry of an orange color, while I know it's to be a homage to G1 Bludgeon the orange suddenly being plugged there just doesn't make any sense, and it's a little off, not to mention having multicolored wheels (black, gray and orange wtf!?) also makes the tank look ridiculous.

Looking at the back of the tank also has this hollow spot which could've used some covering but that's just minor nitpicking since it looks fine as is. The worst worst worst feature of the tank is it's turret; the turret is completely plastic gray and the material itself is bendy, so if you bend it quite a bit since you will do so when doing osom poses in the bot mode, it just completely look ridiculous to have non-straight turrets when it's supposed to be complete metal. I mean, irl, if you see a tank with a turret that's wiggly, won't it be funny? XD But still, the major drawback is the fact that it's uncolored, it doesn't really look solid just because of the turret since that one detail stands out pretty much. So, shame that the mold was good but paint apps wasn't.

You can rotate the mini gun on top in full 360 as well as the tank turret itself and it's pretty fun to rotate actually XD

Now Bludgeon's Robot mode is the life saver of this release, it's really pretty decent overall. The Orange isn't off anymore since the bot mode does use quite a lot of orange shades on its details and the contrast of the colors work pretty well together I must say. Bludgeon features a skeletal-like arms and legs actually but since he's a skeleton samurai, he's also pretty much armor heavy and his bot mode does indeed capture a samurai appearance in one look and it's really impressive. While at his back sits the tank turret you can actually position it diagonally so it'd look like a katana sheath and it is indeed an optional sheath.

Opening up the tank kibble at the back reveals a hidden scabbard which contains his other weapon, I really prefer opening up the tank kibble so it won't actually look like a kibble XD Again overall bot mode is great. Some people might say his head looks stupid, it IS wide I for a fact but it doesn't really look that bad either if you ask me, but still is weird compared to how Mindwipe's head was done, who was also another G1 turned movie design.

While from transformation, his katana is in the Tank turret and the shorter blade is on the hidden scabbard. As a samurai bot, you can actually sheath both to the left of his waist as there are slots for these weapons and it is in these slots where you really are supposed to plug those blade in.

Articulation:

Despite having a large and wide head, Bludgeon neck swivel is pretty impressive to the point that the head can swivel to a 90 degree point without any hassle.

Now arm articulation wise, he is really really impressive. Excluding the wrists' side hinge, Bludgeon has a total of 5 points of articulation in each of his arms. The shoulder has a swivel but right beneath the shoulder pads, there's a sideward hinge as well; his elbows are divided into 2 hinges thus being a double joint in a way and lastly, a bicep swivel.

The leg articulation features the common TF leg joints: a hinge with a swivel for the hips, a single hinged knee and a thigh swivel. While he has some samurai pads/skirt/whatever, the joints still have a decent range of movement so kudos to that. He does have double jointed ankles with adjustable "toes" and "heels".

Bludgeon's epic arm articulation + the bendy swords does actually allow you to pose him like a true samurai which did impress me a lot. I really had fun posing around with him and he can even be some sort of master like the image above, weren't for his slightly funny head, then he'd be a one badass con since he really can do a good amount of very very decent action poses.

Final Thoughts:

The RotF Bludgeon mold was certainly impressive and I would recommend the mold itself but not Bludgeon since he's the more flawed of the two releases using this mold XD In case you want a better release of the Mold, go with HftD's Banzaitron, that's a waaaay better work than your pretender here since that has better weapons as they are painted and the color scheme, well, I like Banzaitron's color scheme. I would only really recommend Bludgeon IF you're getting the Headrobots "Blood" upgrade kit but other than that, go with Banzaitron unless you really like Bludgeon.
