Collection as of August 31, 2009
Well, this year has certainly been a big one for my collection, with the inclusion of a determination to build up a Miku Hatsune shrine and the sudden addition of bugmen aka Kamen Riders, my shelf's been pretty cluttered lately, I just finished re-organizing it but there are cluttered and uncluttered areas if you noticed, those are just temporary spaces for my upcoming figures. And I'll have to re-organize again soon. Anyway, like I mentioned in one of my blogs here, the shelf is now covered with plastic cover and it may look ridiculous but it really protects my figures from dust invasion, been like that for months now and there's few to none dusts in it. :D
Anyway, going to the upper level first... To your left is an area for my Kamen Riders, mostly SICs. While next to it are my unarmed figures followed by mechs, which includes my MG God Gundam.
Going to the lower level: Here's a wide display of the "armed" figures (guns, swords, rods, bows, etc.) I compiled the sword wielders to the left area followed by the extendable weapons (whips, chains). Then the other half being mostly wand and rod wielders with kunai and gun wielders. Again Archer is not mine and I do hope he can be sold already since he's eating too much space...
And last but not least is my pride... The area specially named as "Utahime 39" which contains all my Hatsune Miku goodies. ^^
Well, that's that. I'll update again not too soon, lol. XD

Version 1.5?
If you've read my figure review on the first Sega Miku, then this is the newer version I mentioned there. Version 1.5 is actually a re-colored Sega Miku but this one isn't just a repaint, since the total repaint made this figure stand out and was a really nice move by Sega.
Well then, I'll begin and I'll keep this short since I'll only highlight the main differences from the original.

Box/Packaging:
Well, as you can see above, the box is slightly changed from black to white and even the sketches on the side of the box is now larger instead of the full sketch in the old box. Really nice retouch on the box but I could care less again since this is pretty much on comments only.

Face and Photogenic Appeal:
Yes the face now is a lot better, thanks to the repaint, her lips is now clear and the touch of the glossy paint has made a big impact on the figure... In a better way of course!

The photogenic appeal factor is boosted greatly due to the shiny paint, it gives Miku a vibrant look now and even her skin looks nice compared to the old one which looked really pale if you ask me. The gloss paint made a big difference for the figure to stand out on her photos from the camera. ^^
Body and Details:
Though it is the exact same sculpt, the paint has made another big difference. With this version, you can now see crisp folds on her outfit a big plus for details and with the gloss touch, every detail now stands out more than before especially her hair, I really loved how they painted her hair, bravo Sega for that.

Base:
The base is the exact same base for as the first one, so, you know how it looks like if you've read my previous figure review. The piano keys with hair supporters.

Overall:
This fig is really worth all the trouble, I like it very much since it looks really great, Sega 1.5 Miku is one of the better Miku figs out there right now. If you'd ask me it has a potential in competing with GSC's Miku despite the pose this one has and for a really low price, you already get a really nice figure in your collection.

Final remarks...

Happy Birthday again, Miku!
Stay as the cheerful vocaloid you are. ^^
I wasn't really expecting this to get a perfect score from my criterias, lol, yeah, you probably wonder my ratings are usually high, well, that's because of my criterias and personal satisfaction. You'll probably see, lower ratings later on since I'll be doing the ones I like first before going to others which I think will get lower scores. Well, as the score has it, this fig is the first one to get a perfect 10, so... I think you know what I'll have to say about this already... a really nice to have and for my deep thoughts, a Must have!

Prize figure?
Well, Prize figures are probably the most affordable large scale figs there is in the figure world, they're supposedly prizes from arcade machines if my info is correct but I don't have any idea how the stores get them if that's the case, anyway, usually you can already buy 3 prize figs at the price of one Koto Shining Wind fig. Hehe, though they're affordable, of course, you can't expect really stunning quality but they're good enough as they are especially since prize figures are really improving these days.

Well, you already know who Hatsune Miku is, if you don't... Do her a favor and read on more info, I have some here especially in the GSC Miku figure review. Anyway, here's the review.
Package/Box:
The box is pretty portable, it's pretty small, enough to contain Miku and the base with it. Although the design isn't that appealing to me. But oh well, I don't grade the package for my figure reviews, just comment on them, lol.

Face and Photogenic Appeal:
Well, the face is good enough but the thing is, her lips is kinda hard to see even with the 2 light setup already, so, it's kinda hard to make her look vibrant in a way. Anyway, favorite shot below:

As for photogenic appeal, she does give off an easy manuever due to the fact that the 3 sides are good enough to capture Miku's face but I really think she lacks a vibrant expression, I dunno why but there seems to be some kind of restraint of emotions in her face when I look at the shots I took. Go see for yourself. ^^
Body and Details:
Well, the details are accurate as much but still like the face's problem, it doesn't look vibrant enough comapred to other Miku figures but still I will praise Sega for doing such a remarkable job on the details, like the one in her left arm sleeve and on her skirt, the details on her clothes are nicely done.

Base:
If there's one thing that truly made me like this figure is because of the very cute and creative base they put up, the base are piano keys and can be connected to Kagamine Rin's sega prize fig. The base also has some hair supporters for Miku's twin tails since the material for the hair is quite soft, so, you'll need to put them to make sure the figs doesn't suffer any damage, but at the same time, you can decide not to use the supporters. :D

Overall:
Well, being my first Miku, I wasn't really much contented with it since she was supposedly a sub for the GSC Miku I missed before, but now, that I'm getting all the Mikus I can, she's pretty nice to have, the fig is good but just needs more vibrant colors for it to work full time. But as the price goes, as I've mentioned above, Prize figs are affordable and depends on who you get, it's actually a good buy.

As for some final remarks...

Ah Miku, you just look so adorable
Is she really worth getting? If you are a Miku completist, you should but if you aren't, I would suggest passing on this one and get the newer version instead which I'll be reviewing next. The new version of this is really worth every single money you spent. But really, this is pretty much a good figure to add if you can't find the 1.5 version or the GSC Miku.
Otanjoubi Oumedeto watashi no Utahime!
A Happy Happy Birthday to my One and Only Songstress...
Miku Hatsune!
Miku Hatsune!
Today is the 2nd birthday of Miku since she was known all over the world, in reality Miku is now 18 years, so, out she goes now as an adult. But meh, everyone still loves Miku as the wonderful moe virtual diva. And also with her 18th birthday, I now put her in one of my waifus :p Anyway, to celebrate Miku's birthday... Here are a few nice images of Miku I was able to get from the vastness of the world wide web XD
As for my very own birthday present to my beloved vocaloid, Miku. First off is that I made a new banner of Miku for my 2nd home, Otakai Figure Society. Been a while since I made a banner but I hope it's good enough and for those who want to see it, this is the banner I made:
Of couse, one gift isn't enough so, I changed my Blogspot banner for today to a Miku banner as well and to end it well, I'll be doing the Sega Miku and Sega Miku 1.5 figure reviews later on. ^^
As it seems this post is about to end with all the gifts and shows. I wish Miku would continue to be known to the world and will never disappear in me and a lot of people worldwide. :D And I wish that Miku is virtually enjoying right now with a leek cake XD Finally, for a finale is a happy birthday from Meiko and Kaito. ^^

Nendoroid Petit Vocaloid Set's Final 2 Revealed!
The other one which I don't care about that much is Meiko in another outfit which I first saw in Project Diva since I'm not a fan of other Vocaloids. Well, the other Meiko sure is better compared to the normal one.
And the last one is but another MIKU!!!! And this time is the Saihate PV version, which is sooo eye catching and had just hit me big time which now will make me pre-order it once the pre-orders are up at Wasabi. XD Damn GSC, you're milking my 2nd waifu too much, ah, wallet, hang in there. lol! This year is just too kind to release a lot of Miku Hatsunes. @_@

August Haul # 5
Yep, another SIC but this time, it's loose.
lelouch gave me a heads up on this yesterday, well, if you know me... I'm a die hard Kamen Rider Knight fan and I'd certainly get the good-great KR Knight figures (SH, TAF, SIC, SIC Kiwami and if he'll ever get an SHF treatment). Well, I hesistated on this earlier since he lacked the extra hand sets and all but damn, that's the only SIC Knight I can own right now, especially with Plamoya's uber expensive SIC Vol. 24, yeah, this one's obviously loose, just look at the armor, the plastic parts have mostly faded in color but meh, the SIC Knight Survive is still pretty much a badass and besides, if ever I get my hands on the vol. 24, I can use this one's body and switch it with the newer unused Survive parts from the volume, that way, I can also display both Knight and Knight Survive SICs!
