Murakami's Miku Collection (As of Year End 2011)

Ever wondered how many Mikus I have? XD

And thankfully during my annual cab/figure/room cleaning I thought of capturing this!

And so with roughly 2 and 1/2 years into collecting, this is the green (well not really full green since there are Snow Mikus) utopia I've managed to build and is probably what can define me as a collector.

Even though I still lack a few more Mikus to date, presented in the picture above would be all my 34 Miku figures right now with the ones in boxes still unopened and also included would be the PSP Game Project Diva, a cospa Mug and the Mixing Box package. So yeah, with only 5 more remaining before it reaches 39, I wonder who will be the 39th Miku in my collection. XD

My friend would usually refer to me as the biggest Miku collector in the Philippines but I'm pretty sure I'm one of but not really the biggest in the country though XD I personally don't take doubles of a single figure so, my goal is just to try and collect all the different Miku figures to date as long as it's not a keychain and the pvc itself is different at least just in color (since there are cases like World is Mine and the Music Boxes where the Miku figure didn't change, only the base). And that's it for this post! XD Hauls, Event ender and the usual Top 10 would follow soon XD

2010 Wrap-up: Welcome 2011!

Well, a little late post but first of all, Happy New Year, everyone! Hoping that 2011 will be a better year~

Anyway, here's a little wrap up from 2010.

First, hauls. Apparently even if I thought DM original was the last, the POs were open during the in between of Christmas and New Year and one more managed to make it just before the year ends. And here's my final Haul:

What is that? Well, that's the BRS Blu-ray/DVD limited edition release which comes with an artbook, a nendoroid petit of BRS and DM and etc as a bonus for the so-called "limited" edition release. Anyway, here's a little something for a good friend of mine who has a ponytail fetish, it's an overdue gift from me :))

Just before the Year ended, I managed to clean up my room, of course, this includes my cab and figures. And after more than 6 hours of figure cleaning and rearranging, here's the result.

Well, the cab does look old and I should really invest for a new one already and hopefully 2011 gives me that cab. Still around more than 10 figures are yet to be put in there since they're still sealed in their boxes.

Anyway, that's that for the wrap up, will be posting my top 10 hauls for the year as well soon enough. As for 2011, I'm finally streamlining my large figures since my space really isn't getting larger so I decided to just focus on Shrines, BRS series, Tony Taka illustrated Shining series characters and some of my most awaited from 2010. I probably won't be continuing my plans on going nendos but focus more on my backlogs for the sci-fi revo and sic lines, as for my main line, it'll be D-arts while figmas, aside from shrines and brs series, I'll be getting some more Se.Kirara and Touhou characters. But of course, rest assured that this blog will continue, even if I don't know if anyone reads my posts :))

Decisions Decisions

Ok, as Knight and Ryuki decides to survive the rest...
I, on the other hand, had decided on something else!

With approximately A LOT of unexpected things happening...

Well, I've decided to let go some of the figures I was supposedly keeping. One is the very unique SIC Battle Hopper of Mirage studios... I didn't really plan to but it's eating up a lot of space in the cab and I really need some pre-order money but... as soon as I thought I already had something to pay for my upcoming Elwing, GT decides and pulls out MegaHouse's 1/8 Zero, the one that supposedly have got away. But luckily with a little talking to the owner, I got it reserved and will be taking it home next week, after we watch Ironman 2 :))

So, with that given, my Elwing money has gone poof and to help add to my already ruined budget. I've decided to let go of the 8 other Puchi Vocaloids that are not Miku, so far, 6 of them are already taken. Only Meiko and Sakine Meiko, left (well, I don't mind keeping Sakine but I need to sell Meiko at least :p

Lastly with some OC-ness, I've decided to dish out my only Kamen Rider Knight figure which was the loose SIC Knight Survive I bought before, decided to just search for the pack to officially mark one as owned, so what happened was... I ended up in a trade... :))

Well, yeah, Manga Realization is an S.I.C. spin-off line. But this time they go into manga characters and they're planning to release the Exoskeleton Zero from Kakugo no Susume, so, I need a test bed first and here I have Wingman! lol, the figure which I had three variations where the only difference was the box art, lol. Wingman actually looked weird to me since he looks like some naked guy in a weird looking outfit, but after seeing some reviews, I found out he has an armor and worth the try, so, here, in exchange for Knight is this Manga Realization. XD

And with that... I don't know where the hell my collection's going to anymore @_@

My Collection as of 2009 Year End

Managed to finally snag the lower area ^^

Just a little cab update before 2009 officially ends here in our country :D

As you can see above, the used calendars from before are gone, 2009 was a major turning point in my hobby even though I'm only collecting for a year and a half. It was this year that the following things happened:
1. The Miku, Ryoko and Airi Madness
2. Bugmen Arrival
3. Streamlining and selling stuff

Well, as a summary, those 3 are the major changes. Certainly building shrines weren't easy but heck, it feels satisfying as well especially with my Miku shrine. The sudden introduction of the Kamen Riders which started with the TAF line but later on was streamlined to SICs alone, leading me to sell my other line Riders and as the Riders got the streamline treatment, of course, so is the same to my large figs, etc. I cancelled my idea of completing the SW group and only focus on the ones I really like, I also sold the ones whose faces I didn't really like when I got them. Well, anyway, time for tour around my cab :D

Upper Level

Middle Level

Miku Shrine
(with Airi and Alleyne since they can't fit in the upper levels space)

Murakami's Updates (December '09) Part 2

Oh Gin-nee, when will the fig companies see your beauty

Just a pretty short update on some recent news

A VERY VERY Beautiful Elf
Well, a few months ago, a prototype of a new Elwing was shown, the version which was based of the cover from Tony's art works for Shining Tears and Wind book. Well, it was assumed originally to be 1/6 and it took a while to show the colored product and boy, is she the best Elwing to date.

Really pretty and no awkward looking teeth this time and boy, from the size comparison to the first Elwing of Koto, I won't be surprised if she would be in the 1/4 scale.

ActSta line... A Success?
It seems like ActSta proves itself good as we recently get to see a new one in progress, this time it's Subaru's partner, Teana Lanster. Well, I was looking forward to seeing how skin showy characters would look but based on the prototype, she looks like an enormous figma. But I can't judge yet until the colored product shows.

More SIC Kabuto
Well, I never really updated Kabuto's colored version since by the time I got some free time, Kabuto news was already old, but anyways, here's some more Kabuto previews. The Hyper Form is really looking neat and it really looks like you can fold Kabuto to form his FFR, Zecter Kabuto.

Review renewal update.
Well, I tried the renewal but it seems it didn't turn out good, so, I'll cancel it for now. I need to fix the layout of this site first if I want to pull off something like that.

Voice out your opinion and help this blogger! XD
Well, Airi of QB is my 4th self-proclaimed 2D waifu, hahaha. But getting multiples of her is another question, as there are quite a few Airi figs out there, I already decided to pass on all 2P versions since I don't like the color scheme of it. While also filtering out the first Griffon Airi which was scaled 1/10, I think, because of the almost unproportioned appearance. I got the revoltech already and now waiting for the Figutto release. I also got the MegaHouse Special Edition version, so am passing on the first MH release since they're the same but SE has a transparent base and two extra items. Now, the only dilemma left is whether I should put a go or not on the Griffon 1/7 release. Well, for one, the pose is definitely a winner but certainly the face looks awkward mostly because of the obviously seen light colored lips, which in turn is a minus, since face is the most important factor for me. There aren't much reviews of that Airi available too, so... I'm having a hard time deciding, so, I'd like to get your opinion: is she a get or a pass? (Please vote on the poll ^^) A review can be seen at Azure Toy Box.

Murakami's Updates (December '09)

I am back and so is Miku~~~ ^-^

Finally free of those burdens I was bound to last month. XD

Just a little update on some notable figs for me and stuff.

ActSta... Your thoughts?
With the recent release of the very first figure developed for the ActSta line, Subaru Nakajima from Majou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS.

ActSta is pretty much a posable large fig which tries its best in hiding those joints to give you a sense of viewing a static figure when it's in pose. Well, from what I've seen so far from Subaru, it's pretty good. Toybu features a pretty neat review of her, really really nice. But who knows what might happen to this line. I do hope GSC continues the line though. So what are your thought? Will ActSta prove to live a long life or would it be like Bandai's Twist Action Form line which died pretty much after 5 releases? lol!

Alter and MegaHouse has done it again!
Alter, which pretty much in my opinion, produces probably most of the better large scale figs out there while MegaHouse proves to give a really good bargain with their excellent model core line. And when these two combines, you get Alpha x Omega, a collab which started pretty much started last year and well, they've been releasing a good amount of really wonderful figs and the latest is Ranka Lee from Macross Frontier, well, I haven't really watched it myself but it goes that I buy the figure first before I start watching. And AxO Ranka is totally looking good especially that *kira* pose, it's an ultimate WIN XD

Now, am just hestating since May, her release date, is pretty much the same release as VN02 Miku. >_<

Miku!? Again!???
Companies just won't stop milking my beloved waifu, as Volks presents an updated version of their 1/6 Miku, this time called Encore version. It's basically the first Volks Miku with an added face and arms that brings out Miku's moe factor which is really great. Hoo boy, my wallet sure is dead next year since this is another exclusive, an event exclusive to put at that. Below's a pic of the Encore Miku

Review Renewal
Well, I haven't started editing stuff yet but I'll be putting related figures to each figure I've reviewed and will be reviewing to make it a little, I dunno, better? XD

RO Sniper Madness
Well, Level-Up games decided to give pRO a x2 modifier last week which results in a x3 for Valkyrie server, I finally played may huntress again and finally managed to turn her into a Sniper.

The catch is that I only played her last Saturday from a Huntress but yesterday, she's already level 94 as a Sniper, having access to Thor's Volcano is definitely madness, the exp just raises like insane there. XD

Disposal at maximum
Like I've mentioned in my Teana haul post, I've been disposing a lot of figures lately. Well for one, I think I'll be sticking may Fate series to Saber only and those which I really like, unlike before where I really wanted to get them all at 1/7 scales. Another diposed line was Tales of the Abyss, well, Tear proved not nice to me but I didn't want Natalia to be left alone since I didn't really like her as a character, so there, disposed. As for my Shining Wind line, only sticking to my favorites and the ones I liked so my plan of completing the Weiss Ritter is no more as I am now disposing Ryuna.

POTD!? OMG!!
Lol, yeah, the pic I used for this time's update is Witch Miku, which I formed using Yuki's expansion parts that came with Ryoko's Nendo. And surprisingly, I uploaded her pic at tsuki before I slept and when I woke, she was part of the POTD. I'm really glad ^^

Murakami's Updates (November '09)

I need A BREAK!!!

Some short figure updates and self updates...

Been pretty busy lately since thesis submission is almost up and I hope we can pass the defense, so, I can finally graduate and work work work for more figure moolah. XD Anyway, here's a little treat to Miku fans first. ^^

Sega has been Miku-ed!!
Lol, with the upcoming releases of Mikus from Sega, it might be late but the Vignetteum Cutes now have a colored preview as well as the 21cm Project Diva cover version. I do hope the local stores can bring them in, I'm expecting to see PD cover version by the end of the month or early December. Previews below...

Well, if that's not enough, Sega will be re-releasing the music box Mikus and a really wonderful surprise is that Sega will be releasing a recently seen GK of Miku and it's in 1/6 glory. Probably the best looking Miku pose I've seen so far! Come on Sega! :D

Murakami Night goes full-time S.I.C.!
Yeah, I've decided to give up on the KR Knight collection and to just go with collecting SICs. So, am selling my remaining non-SIC Rider stuff right now.

S.I.C. 53 REVEALED!
Well, volume 53 is going to be another 2-pack, this time is it'll be Dark Kabuto and Gatack, talk about making money, Dark Kabuto is most likely a re-color while Gatack is somewhat disappointing since instead of presenting Hyper parts, they just decided to put on option parts as ZECT Trooper. Wut? ZECT Trooper would've worked better for TheBee IMO, so, I think I'm passing on this one.

Thinking of a 3rd shrine...
Well, I'm still thinking of creating an Airi shrine well, it's not official yet but she's soon to be included in my "waifu" list. XD Problem is I don't like most Airi releases, the 1st Griffon is pretty much a fail, the 2nd Griffon is supposedly nice but I don't like her face while Revoltech Airi is pretty much hurting my eyes for really OBVIOUS revolver joints. So, I'm still thinking about this pretty well.

Backlogs and More Backlogs!
Well, I'll try to post my supposedly every 2 episode W update once thesis stuff goes down. I still have pending figure shoots left and a lot of anime that I started watching to finish them. @_@ Hell month is hell!

Murakami's Updates (October '09) Part 3

Black Rock Shooter... So near, yet so far!!!!

Just some personal updates again XD

Asakura has landed!

Such sweet innocent face, the next you know...
You've been stabbed!

Well, as you know, I've won the bid for Max 1/8 Ryoko at the recent sale at riuva and today, it just arrived at a fellow Otakai member's, who did the proxy payment for me and lelouch, place and we get to claim them on Sunday, yay! 2nd Ryoko has arrived. More to come, too!! Today is already excellent!

Kotobukiya Disposal
Following the recent prize figs disposal I made, I'm in Kotobukiya disposal this time, only limiting them to Shining Wind and Tales series now and probably some really really good sculpt if ever. I'm selling my Uesugi Kenshin and Louise right now, Louise was sold quite quickly though.

AOF Display
Otakai will be having a display again on AOF event on November. And I still haven't volunteered a fig, supposedly I'm in for Mikus but everyone else got ahead already. So, I'll go all out on Mikus next Ozine, but rather for AOF, I'm thinking of having my SHnY figs on display which is Mikuru, Ryoko and Yuki. Any opinions?

Starting a new line...
Yeah, as you can see on the pre-order list, there's a MegaHouse Airi there, and yes, I'm planning to start a Queen's Blade line but I won't be getting all of them, only Airi, Nanael, Alleyne and probably, Tomoe.

Maximum Delay!
Yeah, which explains the comment below BRS's pic. Supposedly, BRS was coming out this month after being delayed for 2 months but no... Like effing Saber Lily, which hasn't arrived at the local stores yet, she's been delayed by 2 months and later on, a month. Come one GSC, what are you doing!? what's more annoying, a few moments after announcing the delay, GSC kicks off with a new commercial for their BRS Cannon and Blade versions. You can view it at their site.

Murakami's Updates (October '09) Part 2

More Ryoko eh?

Just a few more self-involved updates XD

Asakura Invasion starts!
Well, if you've noticed the pre-order list, Max's 1/8 Ryoko has been included. She's actually a pretty old figure already, old like 2 years ago which makes her a bit hard to find but still pretty much available to ebay but with higher prices. A few days ago, another sale went up at riuva and I was lucky enough to win the bid for Ryoko for 70SGD, really sweet if you ask me. And with her arriving, it'll be the start of Ryoko's "invasion" in my collection XD

P-Style "Hyper Mode" CG Gold finally unlocked!
Well, as you know, I've been trying to beat the hell of out Disappearance of Hatsune Miku hard for months now and I've finally done it thanks to the tips I read from YouTube users. Probably the P-Style CG Gold is the toughest to unlock since it'll require you to "great" all songs on Hard. And here's the module, the one I usually call "Hyper Mode" since she pretty much reminds me of G Gundam XD

More space for future figures
Well, I've rearranged the boxes yesterday since they're pretty much eating too much space already. Good thing I managed to rearrange them this way:

which can probably hold around 5-10 more boxes XD

Official disposal
Well, if you've noticed my tsuki profile (>>>) the number's gone down to 43, yeah, I still have the figures with me but I'm seriously getting rid of them unlike Satsuki who'll soon be relisted to my collection if she survives just a few more days. I've discarded Sega Rin Kagamine, Sega Arcuied Brunestud, Banpresto Kallen Kozuki and my two Twist Action Form Riders. I'm selling them right now but only locally though.

Shelf rearrangement
Yeah, I've rearranged my shelf again but I won't be showing it pretty soon, I'll fix up some stuff first to make it look a lot better but the shelf is more spacy now compared to the previous setup.

More Beach Queens for Wave
Yeah, Wave is planning to complete the K-On characters and add Minmay and Mylene from Macross series. Too lazy to upload pics right now but you can view it at akibahobby. ^^

That's all for now.

Super Imaginative Chogokin Wanted List

As you know all know, I collect KR figs as well
and I've streamlined to SICs a few months ago

Here's a list of those I'm aiming for in my collection...

Well, first off will be the Showa era riders, I'm aiming to get all of the non-limited/exclusive releases and I've almost completed them, thankfully. By complete, I mean the characters, not planning to get every variation since I have this stick to 1 character rule except for special exceptions (Miku, KR Knight) Ichigo's case is somewhat different though, since the movie version is kinda like Heisei era already so, I got doubles for him. Anyway, proceeding to the list, the only ones remaining in my list would be:
1.) Vol. 8 Kamen Rider Nigo - I need this to complete the statue trio XD
2.) Vol. 18 Kamen Rider V3 and Riderman - I already have V3 but my target here is Riderman, hopefully, someone can sell their Riderman to me, or if I stumble on this volume, I'll sell V3.
3.) Vol. 26 Kamen Rider ZO and Doras - Pretty common locally so, this one's probably the next in my Showa line.
4.) Vol. 41 Kamen Rider X and Apollo Geist - Yes, the best of the remaining packs for me for the Showa line since X is show accurate much and Apollo Geist is just great XD

Well, the Showa era is done for now, unless Bandai decides to release the remaining Riders: Stronger, Skyrider, Super-1 and ZX.

Now for the Heisei, it took me quite a while to finalize the list but I decided to get the main riders only and the Ryuki riders along with my personal favorites, as for main Riders, there are some packs that has separate ultimate forms but I'm still thinking if they're worth it. For the long list XD
1.) Vol. 13 Kamen Rider Kuuga - yeah, includes the Ultimate form so, I'm going for this
2.) Vol. 20 Kamen Rider Agito Shining/Burning Form and Another Agito - Another Agito is badass evn if I still haven't watched the series yet
3.) Vol. 23 Kamen Rider Ryuki - main rider with Survive Form too
4.) Vol. 24 Kamen Rider Knight - Knight is a must and I only have a loose Knight Survive
5.) Vol. 25 Kamen Rider Ryuga and Alternative Zero - probably the best SIC pack for the Ryuki line for me
6.) Vol. 27 Kamen Rider Zolda and Kamen Rider Taiga - I love Zolda nuff said
7.) Vol. 28 Kamen Rider Faiz - Faiz is one of the more interesting designs for me + a wolf orphenoc form is an epic win
8.) Vol. 32 Kamen Rider Hibiki - main rider with Armed version too
9.) Vol. 39 Kamen Rider G3 and Kamen Rider G4 - pretty interesting design and I like it
10.) Vol. 40 Kamen Rider Agito and Machine Tornader - my originally targetted Rider from Agito, I just love packs with Cycles XD
11.) Vol. 42 Kamen Rider Den-O Sword Form and Momotaros Imagin - main rider
12.) Vol. 44 Kamen Rider Zeronos and Deneb Imagin - Zeronos is my favorite in Den-O and I treat the regular Zeronos as the Sakurai from the future.
13.) Vol. 45 Kamen Rider Den-O Liner Form and Kamen Rider Zeronos Zero Form - like what I mentioned above, but this time represents Yuuto, so, Zeronos can go doubles due to this reason XD
14.) Vol. 48 Kamen Rider Gaoh and Kintaros Imagin - Kintaros is the only Imagin I really liked out of Ryotaro's Imagins + Gaoh SIC looks awesome.
15.) Vol. 50 Kamen Rider Kiva - main rider

Too many of them but they'll probably be diminished one by one soon enough XD

Collection as of August 31, 2009

Yeah, conquered almost 3 levels now...

Well, this year has certainly been a big one for my collection, with the inclusion of a determination to build up a Miku Hatsune shrine and the sudden addition of bugmen aka Kamen Riders, my shelf's been pretty cluttered lately, I just finished re-organizing it but there are cluttered and uncluttered areas if you noticed, those are just temporary spaces for my upcoming figures. And I'll have to re-organize again soon. Anyway, like I mentioned in one of my blogs here, the shelf is now covered with plastic cover and it may look ridiculous but it really protects my figures from dust invasion, been like that for months now and there's few to none dusts in it. :D

Anyway, going to the upper level first... To your left is an area for my Kamen Riders, mostly SICs. While next to it are my unarmed figures followed by mechs, which includes my MG God Gundam.

Going to the lower level: Here's a wide display of the "armed" figures (guns, swords, rods, bows, etc.) I compiled the sword wielders to the left area followed by the extendable weapons (whips, chains). Then the other half being mostly wand and rod wielders with kunai and gun wielders. Again Archer is not mine and I do hope he can be sold already since he's eating too much space...

And last but not least is my pride... The area specially named as "Utahime 39" which contains all my Hatsune Miku goodies. ^^

Well, that's that. I'll update again not too soon, lol. XD
